Monsoon confessions ๐ŸŒง๏ธ

Rain and my childhood โ˜”

Monsoon has always been my favoutite season as it brings back endless memories from my childhood. The picturesque view of the blue pink sky and the lush green backyard of my home played the perfect role to fall in love with the weather. Sitting on the verandah with the music on and enjoying hot coffee with the family is something which I dont get to do very often now.

I still remember how I, along with my friends used to make paper boats and have competition as to whose boat reaches the farthest. One of the fondest memories of childhood is enjoying long drives with my family. The sound of raindrops on the rooftop seemed soothing like natureโ€™s lullaby . As I reminisce the old sweet days, the earthy smell made us feel even more grounded. Rain and pakoda go hand in hand and we never missed a chance. Staying awake for a movie night was something we never missed out during rains , infact it was a ritual we followed religiously.

There were good days and then there were rainy days which were the best . Listening to melodies and grooving on beats, eating my favorite ice cream with brownies and reading books in my leisure time was something I never skipped a day on. The joyous freedom of running barefoot in endless vast land and the sweet fragnance that spread in the airy breeze rejuvenated my soul and filled it with a sense of tranquility. The city lights that glittered across the area seemed like stars in the night and were an irreplacable sight.

In a nutshell, those beautiful mornings and cherishable nights is something I would always carry in the deepest chambers of my heart. Nowadays, I do go on drives, eatouts, hangouts yet it all seems like a recreation of all of these things I did in my childhood. Perhaps thatโ€™s the magic of childhood; it never truly leaves us. Sometimes, all it takes is the smell of wet earth, the sound of raindrops, or a quiet monsoon afternoon to bring those beautiful memories rushing back, reminding us that some seasons never really end. I am grateful to live through those enchanting lively memories and this is my monsoon revealation.

A big thanks to Annaya Mahale. And Gauri Ghatnekar for this amazing prompt.
