The Signal Film Review

The Signal is a horror film about people becoming crazy from hearing a mysterious transmission.

The film starts out with a bang and, although, it does have it’s lulls in action, it still keeps the attention pretty high.

The Signal has manic energy, which reminded this reviewer a lot of Crank, the way the camera follows the characters — it feels very raw.

It also is a surprise how darkly comedic the film becomes in the second act set at a home which takes a bulk of the running time. It helps that the characters are all interesting and unique.

The dark comedy does run out when it gets towards the climax, which is a shame as it is acheived so well. However, it does get one through the second act, which, as stated earlier, does have a bit of a lull.

The film is tense overall, with quite a lot of violence and gore, which is to be expected with a premise like this. It can also become quite brutal.

The Signal is a great film.
