GT-R vs GT-R

Here at U Auto Know, I get to do some pretty cool things. So far, the coolest thing I’ve done has been our most recent comparison, where we took a 2016 Nissan GT-R and compared it to Rhyle Reyes’ Skyline GT-R R34.

The story of how it came about, was probably as cool as the actual video and goes to show just how awesome the Edmonton car scene is. U auto know was in attendance of the 780tuners.com Start-Up Meet, and because of that hugely successful event we managed to capture a great story.

Social Media Creates Connections

Thanks to Instagram and the #780tuners tag, Rhyle and myself bumped into each other online, admiring our respective rides. Soon, we decided it would be great if we could compare his Skyline to the latest R35.

It certainly was great.

The R34 is such an awesome car, as is the R35. The two cars compliment each other so well, and it was really interesting to see how the GT-R has evolved and built upon itself. The Straight-6 in the R34 is unbelievably smooth, and sounds fantastic, but it requires a high level of driver skill to eek out every ounce of the available performance. This is, of course, the definition of a great drivers car which makes it all the more special.

The R35 has addressed the smoothness of the R34 by giving it the most fascinating, dual-clutch, automatic transmission to date. It is brutal. It has neck-breaking levels of acceleration, rivaling a litre motorcycle, and the engine revs to the redline in no-time-flat.

They are truly glorious, and when you sit in one, you know you’re in something special. It was a truly amazing experience, and I’m thankful I can share it with you.
