How I Built OyeLocal in a Weekend (2 Days) Using AI and AntiGravity

Building a Real SaaS Product in Just 48 Hours
As a software engineer and AI enthusiast, I always wanted to solve a real-world problem for local businesses in India.
Last weekend, I challenged myself with a simple goal:
“Can I build and launch a production-ready AI-powered SaaS product in just 2 days?”
The result was OyeLocal (https://www.oyelocal.in/) — a smart platform that helps local businesses improve Google Reviews using intelligent QR flows and AI-powered feedback routing.
And yes, I built the entire MVP in a single weekend using AI tools, rapid development workflows, and a concept I call AntiGravity Development.
In this article, I’ll explain:
- The idea behind OyeLocal
- The real business problem it solves
- How I planned and developed it in 48 hours
- Tech stack used
- AI workflow and automation
- Challenges faced
- Lessons learned
- How AI is changing software engineering forever
What is OyeLocal?
OyeLocal is an AI-powered local business growth platform.
It helps businesses:
- Increase positive Google Reviews
- Filter negative feedback privately
- Improve online reputation
- Grow trust and visibility
The core concept is simple:
Smart QR Flow
When a customer scans a QR code:
- Happy customers are redirected to Google Reviews
- Unhappy customers are asked to share private feedback instead
This prevents public negative reviews while helping businesses improve customer experience.
This idea is extremely useful for:
- Restaurants
- Cosmetic shops
- Salons
- Clinics
- Toy shops
- Cafes
- Local stores
- Small businesses in India
Why I Built OyeLocal
I live in India, and one thing I noticed repeatedly was:
Small businesses struggle with online reputation.
Most local shops:
- Don’t understand Google Reviews
- Don’t know digital marketing
- Cannot afford expensive SaaS tools
- Lose customers because of low ratings
Meanwhile, customers heavily trust:
- Google ratings
- Reviews
- Search visibility
A business with:
- 4.8 rating → gets customers
- 3.2 rating → gets ignored
This problem became my motivation.
I wanted to build:
- Something simple
- Affordable
- AI-powered
- Easy for non-technical business owners
What is AntiGravity Development?
AntiGravity is my personal approach to AI-assisted rapid product development.
Traditional software development feels “heavy”:
- Long planning
- Large teams
- Slow execution
- Complex coordination
AntiGravity Development removes that weight.
The principles are:
- Build fast
- Ship early
- Use AI aggressively
- Automate repetitive work
- Focus only on user value
- Avoid perfection paralysis
In this project, AI acted like:
- Product manager
- UI designer
- Backend assistant
- QA helper
- SEO writer
- Marketing assistant
Instead of replacing engineering skills, AI amplified productivity.
The Tech Stack
I intentionally chose a modern stack optimized for speed.
Frontend
- Next.js
- React
- Tailwind CSS
Backend
- Supabase
- PostgreSQL
- Serverless APIs
Deployment
- Vercel
AI Workflow
- ChatGPT
- AI-assisted coding
- Prompt-driven development
Analytics
- Custom scan tracking
- Feedback analytics
Day 1 — Product Planning and Core Development
Step 1: Defining the MVP
I asked myself:
What is the minimum feature set needed to create value?
The MVP included:
- QR code generation
- Business onboarding
- Google review redirect
- Negative feedback collection
- Analytics dashboard
- Mobile-friendly UI
I intentionally avoided:
- Complex CRM features
- Team management
- Billing systems
- Advanced analytics
The goal was speed.
Designing the User Flow
The entire product experience was optimized for simplicity.
Business Owner Flow
- Create account
- Add business details
- Enter Google review link
- Generate smart QR
- Print and place QR in shop
Customer Flow
- Scan QR
- “How was your experience?”
- Positive → Google Review
- Negative → Private feedback form
Simple. Fast. Effective.
Using AI During Development
AI significantly accelerated development.
I used AI for:
- Database schema generation
- API structure
- UI component generation
- Error handling
- SEO content
- Marketing copy
- Architecture suggestions
Instead of writing everything manually, I focused on:
- Product decisions
- User experience
- Business logic
AI handled repetitive engineering tasks.
Database Design
Supabase made backend development extremely fast.
Main tables:
- Businesses
- QR Campaigns
- Feedback
- Analytics Events
- Review Redirect Logs
I designed the schema to support:
- Scalability
- Multi-business support
- Future AI analytics
Building the QR System
The QR system was the core feature.
Each business receives:
- Unique QR code
- Tracking-enabled redirect URL
Example flow:
- Customer scans QR
- System tracks event
- Customer selects experience
- Redirect logic executes
This gave businesses visibility into:
- Total scans
- Positive review rate
- Negative feedback rate
Day 2 — Polish, Optimization, and Deployment
The second day focused on:
- UI cleanup
- Mobile responsiveness
- Analytics
- Error handling
- Deployment
- SEO optimization
SEO Strategy
I wanted OyeLocal to rank for keywords like:
- Google Review QR Code
- Improve Google Reviews
- Local Business Reputation Management
- QR Code Review System
- AI Review Management Tool
So I optimized:
- Metadata
- Landing page structure
- Content hierarchy
- Page speed
- Mobile UX
SEO was integrated from Day 1.
Biggest Challenges
1. Rapid Decision Making
When building quickly, indecision kills momentum.
I had to:
- Skip unnecessary perfection
- Make fast tradeoffs
- Focus on outcomes
2. Deployment Issues
I faced:
- Vercel deployment restrictions
- Git author issues
- Environment variable problems
- API permission bugs
But solving deployment problems is part of shipping products.
3. Scope Control
The hardest part of rapid development is:
NOT building extra features.
I constantly resisted:
- Adding dashboards
- AI recommendation engines
- Advanced automation
- Complex user roles
MVP discipline matters.
What I Learned
AI Will Change Software Engineering Forever
The role of engineers is evolving.
Future engineers will focus more on:
- System thinking
- Product strategy
- AI orchestration
- Architecture
- Business understanding
Coding itself is becoming partially automated.
Speed Matters More Than Perfection
Many people spend:
- Months planning
- Weeks designing
- Endless time polishing
But real learning happens only after shipping.
Launching fast creates:
- Feedback
- Momentum
- Clarity
Small Businesses Need AI Too
Most AI products target:
- Enterprises
- Developers
- Large companies
But small businesses also deserve:
- Automation
- AI growth tools
- Affordable SaaS
India’s local business ecosystem is a massive opportunity.
What’s Next for OyeLocal?
Future roadmap:
- WhatsApp integrations
- AI-generated reply suggestions
- Multi-location support
- Smart customer sentiment analysis
- Auto follow-up campaigns
- AI-powered local SEO recommendations
The vision is much larger than QR reviews.
I want OyeLocal to become:
An AI growth platform for local businesses in India.
Final Thoughts
Building OyeLocal in a weekend taught me something important:
AI dramatically reduces the distance between idea and execution.
Today, a single motivated engineer can:
- Validate ideas faster
- Launch real SaaS products
- Compete with larger teams
- Build globally scalable products
The future belongs to builders who can combine:
- Engineering
- AI
- Product thinking
- Speed
And this is just the beginning.
