What did I actually learn?

Honestly, this course was pretty eye opening into how games are made and literally everything in it. From starting to the base of what the hell a video game is and its definition to getting to make an actual video game.

What was the biggest big thing I learned from this course??

I think the biggest thing I probably got out of this course was probably the idea that you will always iterate. Iterate. Iterate. And iterate. What you have will never be the end product. Just always iterate on it and it will eventually turn out good (best case scenario) or just playable (usually the case). Taking in all the critiques and suggestions makes you a better game designer/artist/whatever in the long run. I think this course has made me a better designer of both games and the graphic kind as well. Being able to give critique to someone and have them actually apply it to their project and art is one of the best feelings and even better when you get good critiques and apply it to your game.

What did I accomplish?

In the course I managed to create two prototypes and one game to fruition. Probably the coolest thing ever was being able to collaborate with my partner to create something so funny yet so cool and have other people agree that its stupid funny but also cool. I still wished I kept developing my board game prototype but I think when I find the time I will work on it to fruition.

The actual finished product that I made is super cool, Its a real damn shame that the timing of the product got delayed but that’s the way she goes. Being able to form a team and a tight knit group to create something then publish it is so awesome and honestly I think I might recommend this class to more people because its just such a good class for designers and artists and whoever and whatever in between.
