My Unexpected Journey to Becoming a Torah-Observant Christian
Hello, beautiful souls!
Today, I’m sharing a piece of my heart with you all — my spiritual journey and why I identify as a Torah-observant Christian. It’s an unusual path, and it’s been one heck of a rollercoaster, filled with remarkable insights and life-changing revelations!
I’d like to have this here as a reference for anyone who asks “but why” and i can point them here. I can make a much more elaborate post at some point but i’ve had the question a couple times already so this seems like my best bet on answering this more efficiently.
Everything began with a deep dive into the history of the Roman Empire. I was captivated by the stories about the Flavius dynasty and the heartbreaking destruction of the temples. This led me to the figure of Saint Constantine. At first, I admired him as a liberator of Christians, but as I dug deeper, my perspective began to shift. I uncovered layers of truths that revealed significant changes in religious practices under his rule. Honestly I was shocked.
My husband was already exploring the path of Torah observance at this time. He’d share snippets of his findings with me, nudging my curiosity and interest. But I was hesitant to commit, unsure about stepping into this unfamiliar territory.
Then, a question planted itself in my mind: Who would understand Yahusha’s teachings and the ideal way of living better than His own disciples or the Christians who lived just a few generations after Him? I found that these folks were observing the Torah until they were forced to abandon their practices. This realization made me stop and think.
I began to notice that many of our traditions, even those meant to honor Yah, had roots in paganism. The realization hit me hard during Easter when we all cheerfully exchanged greetings using a pagan name. I found myself asking, “How would our Heavenly Father, Yah, feel about this?” The Torah is clear about its stand on paganism.
Deciding to tread this path was a deeply personal choice, fueled by a longing to connect with the Divine honestly and authentically. I wasn’t causing harm to anyone; instead, it felt like I was taking the “better safe than sorry” route.
Yet, this choice has not been without its challenges. When I share my journey with others, the reactions are often less than supportive. Accusations of joining a cult or losing my sanity are hurled my way. People get offended, and trying to explain my learnings turns into an uphill battle. I recognize that these responses are deeply rooted in thousands of years of Roman Catholic culture. If I’m being honest, I would have probably reacted the same way years ago.
But despite these hurdles, I’ve held on to my conviction. There’s a lot more to why I felt drawn to Torah observance. It’s been like climbing a steep hill. Yes, it’s been tough at times, but every step I take offers a more beautiful view of the landscape of faith.
Becoming a Torah-observant Christian wasn’t an overnight decision. It was a gradual, heart-opening journey born from my thirst for truth. The challenges and trials have made my faith stronger and given me a deeper sense of fulfillment and purpose. As I continue this walk, I keep my heart open, learning and growing each day.
Shalom, my friends!
