Six years after applying!

Canada and the US have a reciprocal travel agreement for frequent travellers crossing our borders. Although I rarely fly to or through the US these days, my intentions were different back in 2019 when I coughed up the $50 application fee for a faster crossing.

My timing was marred by Covid 19 when any travel came to a screeching halt and processing services shut down.

I first wrote about the long wait in September 2021 and again last year when my attempt to move the application forward was thwarted by my own stupidity.

Read instructions, Barb!

Today, I’m en route to New Zealand and am flying through Houston. I completed the US interview at the airport, which simply entailed fingerprinting and passport verification.

Yay! I have been approved and should have my card in the mail by the time I get home in 3 weeks…
