When humans try to cover themselves, its starting clothing era. Beginning, it was mainly for the weather, such as hot summer or cold winter requirements.

Gradually, it is a different fashion when the tribe leader or monk wears different clothing to show them as different from the general people. Those were mainly made from the Tree leaves, buckles, and animal skins. Depending on the availability, sometimes using ornaments from the animal bones and metal parts. In modern fashion, civilization started from natural materials, mainly cotton, and the processing of different natural materials, and gradually, the invention of laboratory yarn, called man-made fibers. Fiber is the raw material (like cotton or wool), yarn is a continuous strand of spun fibers used for knitting and weaving fabric, and thread is a tightly twisted strand of yarn finished specifically for sewing. By the way, there are two main types of Clothing & Fabrics, namely, knitting and weaving. Knit fabric is a textile made by interlocking loops of yarn using needles, rather than crisscrossing threads. This looped structure creates a flexible, highly stretchy, and breathable material that naturally contours to the body, making it a popular choice for everyday apparel like t-shirts, sweaters, and athletic wear.

Woven fabric is any textile created by interlacing two sets of yarn at right angles on a loom. The vertical threads are called the Warp, and the horizontal threads are the Weft. This rigid, grid-like crisscross construction makes woven fabrics sturdy, durable, and highly shape-retaining, though they typically do not stretch unless woven with elastic fibers like spandex. It is not easy to confirm when the first fiber or yarn was invented, and it was not invented by a single person, but rather evolved alongside early human civilization. Prehistoric tools like the drop spindle date back over 9,000 to 20,000 years, while fragments of the oldest known twisted linen yarn/string trace back to 5000 BCE in Ancient Egypt and the Middle East. Early humans began twisting natural plant and animal fibers together to create cords, ropes, and eventually fabric. The earliest surviving linen and flax yarn fragments were produced in Egypt. Yarn is called “spun” yarn because it is made by twisting short, individual fibers (called staple fibers) together to form a long, cohesive thread. Unlike synthetic filaments (like silk or continuous nylon), natural fibers like cotton, wool, and linen are relatively short. Plied Yarn: Two or more single-spun yarns twisted together in the opposite direction to create a stronger, more balanced thread. Blended Yarns: Combining two different types of fibers — such as polyester for durability and cotton for softness — during the spinning process. Core Spun Yarn: A central filament (like spandex) wrapped around with spun fibers to create a stretchy fabric for activewear. In the modern era, silk is also very popular, and most of the richest people and the emperors, Kings & Queens, women’s fashion and dress are made with the silk yarn as the most desirable always. Silk yarn and fabric were not invented by one specific person, but were developed in ancient China around the 4th millennium BCE. According to Chinese legend, the process of sericulture (cultivating silkworms to make thread) was first discovered around 2696 BCE by Empress Leizu (also known as Si-Ling-Chi), the wife of the Yellow Emperor. Wool and the Acrylic yarn invention have changed the history of winter dress. This is not only used for fashion, but this yarn clothing makes warmer feelings and helps to be saved from any cold season. Acrylic Yarn: Developed in the 1940s by the E.I. DuPont de Nemours & Company, it is an artificial, petroleum-based fiber made from polyacrylonitrile. Commercial production began in the 1950s as an affordable, moth-resistant, and machine-washable alternative to wool.

Wool Yarn: Wool is a natural protein fiber spun from the fleece of animals, primarily sheep. Its use dates back thousands of years (around 10,000 BC), making its origins deeply intertwined with human civilization and the domestication of livestock. Today, these two are often spun together into acrylic-wool blends, offering the affordability and easy care of synthetic fibers with the warmth and breathability of natural wool. The textile machine evolved from ancient manual tools to highly automated systems. The 18th and 19th- century Industrial Revolution drove this shift, mechanizing spinning and weaving through water and steam power. Today, modern machines leverage artificial intelligence and IoT to optimize production.25,000 BC: Early humans used bone awls and needles to stitch animal hides together. Now will tell you about the most interesting information, Vicuna Wool: is the most expensive and exclusive yarn in the world, often priced between $300 to $1,000+ per ounce (or up to $600 per pound). Harvested from the Vicuna, a rare wild camelid native to the high Andes in South America, its fibers are among the finest, lightest, and warmest natural fibers on earth. (Vicunas are wild camelids native to the Andes Mountains of South America. They are primarily found in Peru (which hosts the largest population), Bolivia, Chile, and Argentina. There is also a small, introduced population in Ecuador.)

Anyway, Vicunas only produce a small amount of wool (about 0.5 pounds per animal) and can only be shorn every two to three years. The animals were once nearly hunted to extinction. Today, they are strictly protected, and the shearing process is highly regulated by the Peruvian government to ensure sustainable conservation. The fiber measures about 10–12 microns in diameter — making it softer and finer than top-tier cashmere. If Vicuna is the undisputed king, a few other ultra-premium fibers trail just behind it in luxury and price.
