For Years I Laughed off these thyroid symptoms — Until My body screamed “ENOUGH!”

I spent the longest time just thinking I was tired.

That it was work, stress, lack of sleep, it’s me aging or something like that. Every single morning became a challenge. I had no energy and zero focus and even things I normally would’t notice were starting to get on my last nerves.

That’s when other symptoms began to crop up. “It felt like my hair was thinning,” recalls Jennifer from California, “and I had that perpetual dry skin feeling. I was put on more weight even though my eating habits hadn’t really changed; and I was always freezing even though no one around me was.”

Now I didn’t think anything to any of the above for the longest time. Yet, as our bodies have a method of speaking in whispers long before they scream at you. I finally did get to talk to a doctor and have some tests done. He told me something I’ve long suspected — that my thyroid wasn’t cooperating!

Your thyroid gland is actually just a tiny, butterfly-shaped gland in your neck but plays an enormous roll in everything that you do — it regulates your metabolism, body temperature, heart rate and how you feel about yourself (your mood!). When the thyroid goes haywire, not much of anything else in your body remains unaffected! It’s not uncommon for patients with thyroid issues to mention many signs and symptoms, including but not limited to:

Always tired Unintended weight loss or gain Thinning hair Dry skin Brain fog Unexpectedness with feeling too cold/hot Shifts in mood A difficulty in sleep.

That doesn’t necessarily indicate that something is wrong with your thyroid, but these are all red flags you should bring up with your doctor, especially if you’ve been experiencing them for weeks or months.

Conclusion One major thing I learned:

**Learn to pay close attention to what your body constantly tries to impress you with.**

Just a short conversation with your doctor and the correct tests can have answers, and show you where to begin to heal.

Despite being the smallest gland in the body, it is often the smallest that has the largest bearing on the quality of how we’re all experiencing our daily lives.

Trust Your Body It generally knows when something’s up.
