🗣REBUILD MY HOUSE; EZRAS, ARISE! (XLV)❤️‍🔥

⚓️BIBLE REFERENCE: Ezra 10:16-24 (AMP) [16] Then the [former] exiles did so. Ezra the priest and men who were heads of fathers’ households were selected, according to their fathers’ households, each of them by name; and they sat down on the first day of the tenth month to investigate the matter.

[17] And by the first day of the first month they finished investigating all the men married to foreign wives.

[18] Now among the sons of the priests who had married foreign women were found: of the sons of Jeshua [the high priest] the son of Jozadak, and his brothers—Maaseiah, Eliezer, Jarib, and Gedaliah.

[19] They vowed to send away their [pagan] wives, and being guilty, they each offered a ram of the flock for their offense.

[20] Of the sons of Immer: Hanani and Zebadiah;

[21] and of the sons of Harim: Maaseiah, Elijah, Shemaiah, Jehiel, and Uzziah;

MESSAGE The knowledge of God's anger, distaste, disgust and repulsion towards sin is as important as the understanding of His Love towards us. A true son of God is not just aberrant but abhorrent towards sin! It is not enough to dislike and be forgiven of sins, we are ordained to hate every form of it! One Truth made abundantly clear in The Bible is The Lord's absolute hatred for sin (Psalms 45:7). Interestingly it not only stands true in the Old but also the New Testament (Hebrews 1:9). In Joshua 7, Achan sinned against God and was stoned to death. In Acts 5, Ananias and Sapphira sinned against God, and The Lord Himself killed them! In a bid to bring "balance" to God's hatred for sin and Love for us, extremes have been embraced, birthing false doctrines. Both are equally important and both are necessary for genuine salvation!

You will realize that it is not everytime you hear God say that He is angry, when He is; He usually Says it, when He has had enough (Leviticus 26:14-43). Ezra didn't discover that God was angry because God revealed it personally to him. He had read The Word of God and understood what makes God angry such that when the report came of the Israelites' sins, He was fully convinced that The Lord was angry. All we need is to go through few chapters in The Bible and anyone whose eyes are opened will see that The Lord must be really angry with our generation! As a matter of fact, He must have been angry for a while now. Anyone truly in love desires to know the state of the heart of his Lover! If we really Love The Lord, we will study His Word which is the revelation of His Mind, so hard, that we might never offend Him!

The decision to examine themselves, fishing out the defaulters among them was golden! From Priest to Levites to Singers; everyone repented! No one is too big to repent, sir. They spent three solid months investigating who had sinned against The Lord. I can picture The Lord smiling from Heaven at their enthusiasm to Please Him! 2 Corinthians 13:5 instructs us to do the same; "Test and evaluate yourselves to see whether you are in the faith and living your lives as [committed] believers. Examine yourselves [not me]! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves [by an ongoing experience] that Jesus Christ is in you—unless indeed you fail the test and are rejected as counterfeit?" We don't have to wait for The Lord to judge our actions before we do so ourselves (1 Corinthians 11:31-32). Apostle Paul testified; "But [like a boxer] I strictly discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached [the gospel] to others, I myself will not somehow be disqualified [as unfit for service]" (1 Corinthians 9:27).

🤗CALL: You know what 1 Corinthians 16:22 Says? "If anyone does not love the Lord [does not obey and respect and believe in Jesus Christ and His message], he is to be accursed. Maranatha (O our Lord, come)!" I really don't know what Bible we are reading these days; picking out and sharing only the nice parts when a coin always has two sides; the blessings for the obedient and the curses for the disobedient; simple! Just as it was in Ezra's time, the Priests, Levites, Singers; everyone must repent! The same Bible instructs; "Be sober-minded [be sensible, wake up from your spiritual stupor] as you ought, and stop sinning; for some [of you] have no knowledge of God [you are disgracefully ignorant of Him, and ignore His truths]. I say this to your shame" (1 Corinthians 15:34).

What else do we want The Lord to do for us that He hasn’t already done? Maybe you haven’t also read that we will have greater punishments than those in the Old Testament did if we reject and trample under foot The Son of God, consider unclean and common the Blood of the covenant that sanctified Hin and keep insulting the Spirit of Grace who imparts tbe unmerited favour and blessing of God (Hebrews 10:26-31). Foolishly we have believed that Grace covers sins when The Bible says that the one that covers his sins shall not prosper and Mercy is only for those who confess and forsake them (Proverbs 28:13). Proverbs 19:29 reveals; "Judgments are prepared for scoffers, And beatings for the backs of [thickheaded] fools." Proverbs 28:14; "Blessed and favored by God is the man who fears [sin and its consequence] at all times, But he who hardens his heart [and is determined to sin] will fall into disaster." Proverbs 27:5-6 submits; "Better is an open reprimand [of loving correction] Than love that is hidden. Faithful are the wounds of a friend [who corrects out of love and concern], But the kisses of an enemy are deceitful [because they serve his hidden agenda]." Can we examine ourselves today, pointing out the sins we still practice as we all cry out for The Lord’s Mercy to rain on us?

🫵🏿BRIDGE: "For I do not want you to be unaware, believers, that our fathers were all under the cloud [in which God’s presence went before them] and they all passed [miraculously and safely] through the [Red] Sea; [Ex 13:21; 14:22, 29] And all [of them] were baptized into Moses [into his safekeeping as their leader] in the cloud and in the sea; and all [of them] ate the same spiritual food; [Ex 16:4, 35] and all [of them] drank the same spiritual drink, for they were drinking from a spiritual rock which followed them; and the rock was Christ. [Ex 17:6; Num 20:11] Nevertheless, God was not well-pleased with most of them, for they were scattered along the ground in the wilderness [because their lack of self-control led to disobedience which led to death]. [Num 14:29, 30] Now these things [the warnings and admonitions] took place as examples for us, so that we would not crave evil things as they did. [Num 11:4, 34] Do not be worshipers of handmade gods, as some of them were; just as it is written [in Scripture], “The people sat down to eat and drink [after sacrificing to the golden calf at Horeb], and stood up to play [indulging in immoral activities].” [Ex 32:6] We must not indulge in [nor tolerate] sexual immorality, as some of them did, and twenty-three thousand [suddenly] fell [dead] in a single day! [Num 25:1-18] We must not tempt the Lord [that is, test His patience, question His purpose or exploit His goodness], as some of them did—and they were killed by serpents. [Num 21:5, 6] And do not murmur [in unwarranted discontent], as some of them did—and were destroyed by the destroyer. [Num 16:41, 49] Now these things happened to them as an example and warning [to us]; they were written for our instruction [to admonish and equip us], upon whom the ends of the ages have come. Therefore let the one who thinks he stands firm [immune to temptation, being overconfident and self-righteous], take care that he does not fall [into sin and condemnation]. No temptation [regardless of its source] has overtaken or enticed you that is not common to human experience [nor is any temptation unusual or beyond human resistance]; but God is faithful [to His word—He is compassionate and trustworthy], and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability [to resist], but along with the temptation He [has in the past and is now and] will [always] provide the way out as well, so that you will be able to endure it [without yielding, and will overcome temptation with joy]. Therefore, my beloved, run [keep far, far away] from [any sort of] idolatry [and that includes loving anything more than God, or participating in anything that leads to sin and enslaves the soul]. I am speaking as to wise and sensible people; judge [carefully and thoughtfully consider] for yourselves what I say. All things are lawful [that is, morally legitimate, permissible], but not all things are beneficial or advantageous. All things are lawful, but not all things are constructive [to character] and edifying [to spiritual life]. Let no one seek [only] his own good, but [also] that of the other person" (1 Corinthians 10:1-15, 23-24).

⚔️ACTION POINT: Settle down with The Holy Spirit today, asking Him to examine and convict you of all unconfessed and unforsake sins. Confess, repent, forsake and receive His Grace to never commit them again. Do this daily.
