Tonti Sagara MAN 1 Yogyakarta Trains 282 New Students Through PBB MATAMUDA 2026

Yogyakarta, Indonesia — A total of 282 new students of MAN 1 Yogyakarta took part in the PBB MATAMUDA training, held by Tonti Sagara on Monday and Tuesday, July 13–14, 2026. The activity was designed to help students develop discipline, leadership, responsibility, and teamwork as they begin their journey at the madrasah.

A total of 37 members of Tonti Sagara served as both committee members and trainers. This year’s PBB MATAMUDA carried the theme S.T.E.P: Step, Transform, Empower, Progress. The theme encouraged participants to take their first steps, grow into better individuals, empower others, and create positive progress.

The first day began with a congregational Dhuhr prayer at Al-Hakim Mosque, followed by an opening ceremony led by Tonti Sagara Advisor Dinar Rifa’i, S.Pd.

The participants then received basic marching training and lessons on proper behavior, including how to walk, enter a room, ask questions, and respond appropriately. They were also introduced to the SATOTEMA values — greeting, asking for help, saying thank you, and apologizing — as well as the 5S values: greeting, welcoming others, smiling, being polite, and showing respect.

On the second day, the participants joined a training session on ceremony protocol at several stations. Accompanied by class supervisors and mentors, they not only learned the materials but also practiced various protocol duties directly.

The activity concluded with a ceremony led by Muhammad Amin, S.Ag. In his speech, he emphasized that marching training is not simply about learning movements, but also about building discipline and developing the ability to manage time in everyday life.

Head of MAN 1 Yogyakarta, Edi Triyanto, S.Ag., S.Pd., M.Pd., emphasized that leadership should be developed from the moment students enter the madrasah environment.

“A leader must not only be able to guide others but also be able to lead themselves. Through this activity, students are trained to be disciplined, responsible, and confident in taking positive roles within the madrasah,” he said.

PBB MATAMUDA Committee Member Cahaya Rizky Diranni expressed hope that the activity would help new students recognize and develop their potential.

“PBB is not only about marching. It is also a process of developing interests, discovering talents, and building character. Every step is expected to bring change, empowerment, and progress,” she said.

Through PBB MATAMUDA 2026, new students are expected to grow into individuals with strong integrity, leadership skills, and a sense of responsibility for every task and decision they make, both at the madrasah and in society. (zan)
