Threads Might Let You Add Music to Your Posts Soon!

Meta’s social app Threads, which competes with X (formerly Twitter), might soon let you add music to your posts. Meta confirmed to TechCrunch that it’s working on this feature internally.

Adding music to posts isn’t new for Meta — Instagram and Facebook already have this option. Now, they’re thinking about bringing the same vibe to Threads.

The feature was first noticed by a reverse engineer, Alessandro Paluzzi, who often finds new tools being tested behind the scenes. Right now, this music option isn’t available to the public, and there’s no word on when it might launch.

For music lovers, this could be a fun way to spice up posts and share their favorite tracks, similar to how Myspace used to work. But not everyone might enjoy it, as music on posts could feel a bit distracting.

In related news, Threads is also testing other features like setting a display name and adding a cover image to profiles, which would make it more like its competitors, X and Bluesky.
