Invincible defiance against the violence in professional baseball league

Mr.Hiromitsu Ochiai is one of honorable professional baseball legends in Japan, who also previously served as the director at Chunichi Dragons and let it deserve the championship, is well known as the defiant person against any violence in the professional baseball league in Japan. Especially, he had a silent feud with his former boss Mr.Senichi Hoshino who as the chief-director often perpetrated the violence against the players except Ochiai, who declared if any kind of violence may occur to him from the director, he can immediately terminate multiple years of contracts.

Ochiai fundamentally detested and defied the violence of baseball society. He did not belong to the baseball club in terms of high school student because of the despicable violent abuse from elder members, in spite of their ages different from only 1 or 2 years. However, his passion for baseball was not waned. Having enrolled in an university and worked in the factory of Mitsubishi heavy industry, he finally became the professional player at Lotte Marines.

In that video above, Hoshino was so irritated by the languish game of his team, with his legs crossed in very narrow space nevertheless. Nobody wanted to sit in the bench next to him to avoid the violence from him. Nevertheless, Ochiai had a seat beside him fearlessly or even calmly. Why did he intend to do that?

Ochiai implicitly deterred him and protected any players and staff members from violence by his sitting alongside his former boss. Ochiai already agreed with the team that he should terminate the contract if any violent infringement fall on him. While sitting next to his boss imperviously, Ochiai venerably took off his hat in front of his boss while sitting that represents polite manners for elder people.

After the term of direction in Dragons, Hoshino resigned from his former team. It was not due to his violent regime but inability of his direction. Having gotten through several experiences of direction in other teams, He completely changed his mind especially after he served as director in Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles as the rookiest team in 2000’s. He completely discarded or even excommunicated any violence against players and enhanced his directory methods, but started beefing up the motivations of the members that was very successful for the fledging team.

Besides, when Ochiai was also appointed as director in Dragons, they met each other again, both of whom were the chief directors.

Ochiai bowed demurely and took off his cap in front of his former boss whose violence he refused but whom he respects and trusts as honorable baseball player and director. This is one of my favorite videos that depicts the bromance very briefly and emotionally. Sadly, Mr.Hoshino passed away several years ago due to the cancer. Ochiai was profoundly shocked and missed his former boss very much, according to his beloved son Mr. Fukushi Ochiai who is the professional voice actor in Japan.
