When Your Dreams Feel Bigger Than You

Back for round two

My heart reflects on what it means to dream big when all I want to do is cry about my past.

About not being enough.

Not being enough for love.

Not being enough for long-term friendships.

Not being enough for the future I imagined.

So I begin self-deprecating.

Even when I don’t believe the words, my body deceives me.

It repeatedly deletes my progress.

It catastrophizes the life that feels too scary to live.

It unravels the seams of hope and whispers that everything I am building will fail before it ever begins.

And that fear has held me back.

It has held me back from writing.

It has held me back from creating.

It has held me back from living intentionally.

So I am back, trying what I use to, but making it new.
