Nerian’s Corner — A Recap on 2022
2022 has been a hectic year for everyone, especially for those in the crypto space. But with difficult times comes the opportunity to learn and grow to be ready for the next phase. With that said, here’s a short recap of the year at Nerian.

Nerian Becomes Official
Looking back at the launch of the startup back in Aug 2021, seems like a lifetime away now. Even its registration took place in January 2022, establishing business operations in Tallinn, Estonia.
Then, in March this year, Enzo Snyman joined the team at their HQ in Belgium, eventually leading to his official onboarding to the core team. At this point, the operations were starting and things started getting busy.
Nerian’s Product
Then, at the beginning of April, Nerian launched its first product, the Genesis Nodes which took off at a good pace, but as the crypto market in general declined, so did the sales of nodes slow down. To date, 80 Genesis (and Fractional Nodes) have been sold. The node operators still hold a key position in the development of the overall Network. Although we were considering activating staking and NFTs on these nodes, the team decided to take a different approach to how these mechanisms will work in the longer term. Initially, it was envisioned to be a pool of tokens that are to be allocated towards rewards for the sake of the stake. But in the new vision, the team intends to generate mutual benefits for all parties involved in activities contributing to the Network. We look forward to being able to share more about how that will work in the near future.
Fundraising
Most of our community members might remember the Ripple Grants Wave III for which Nerian applied. Unfortunately, we were not among the selected projects for that round but it did not discourage the team. Having applied for the next wave of grants in the last quarter of this year, the team managed to make more progress with the application (more on this in a future article coming in 2023).
Furthermore, the team has been actively working on funding for the startup with some discussions reaching advanced levels of progress.
Closing The Year
In the last weeks of the year, the team opened up three positions of employment. Two are for full-stack developers and one is for a marketing and communications specialist to join forces with the Nerian team in the mission to lay the foundations of a peer-to-peer data processing network.
We urge the community to help spread the word and if anyone would like to apply — having the qualifying competencies of course — please do so before the applications close.
Looking To 2023
As the team takes a week to reset their batteries, they will be back full steam ahead on the 2nd of January. At this point, all of the existing applications for the aforementioned positions will be processed and refined. At this stage, the shortlisted candidates will likely be interviewed by the third week of the new year which will be followed by the onboarding and expansion process of the team.
Nerian and the team are excited about the outlook that 2023 holds, and we intend on being more active and engaging on all levels of communication and development. We want to take this opportunity to thank the community for its continued support and faith in what Nerian is building. After all, without the Nerian Community, we could not have made it this far.
