It’s never a normal day because it only happens once every four years. If that extra day wasn’t added in periodically, we’d be celebrating winter in spring at some point because the calendar year is 365 days plus some extra hours, minutes and seconds.
February 29, 2024. I’d woken early because I knew Hannah was walking the runway for a fashion show in Paris. What astonished me was when a memory from Facebook popped up.
It was a photo of Hannah and me just before she boarded a flight to Paris for the first time in 2016.
I didn’t realize they had left on February 29. I found it quite bizarre, especially since the day only occurs once every four years and she was about to do what she had dreamed of 8 years later — with her favourite designer, Rick Owens.
