Q: When I launch the VXDIAG VCX SE for JLR software, I get this message: “The software status file is out of date. The software status must be updated to the latest version before performing a vehicle ECU software download. If you do not download these files now, you will not be able to perform an ECU software download.”
A: This issue occurs when the JLR SDD software version is outdated. To fix it:
Check the JLR SDD software version — After opening SDD, look at the lower left corner of the screen to confirm the version.
Update to the latest version — If it is not the newest release, download and install the latest version.
Once updated, the notice will disappear, and you will be able to perform ECU software downloads normally.
