CLEANUP NEEDED IN AISLES 3, 4, 6, 7, 8 AND SOON NUMBER 10!

Since when did grocery shopping become a family activity?

I have a short walk to Kroger and stop by almost daily to pick up whatever; Deb does the same.

So I walked through Kroger the other day, turned down the cereal aisle, and was confronted with a family of five perusing the Cheerio options. Mom, Dad, and three kids ranging from 3 to 8 (I estimated.)

In the juice aisle, things get worse. Here we have two families, a total of nine, plus two shopping carts. I decided I did not need juice until tomorrow, and diverted to the canned goods aisle.

What is the appeal of the family shopping experience? It is certainly not a bonding experience; the parents say NO to every item the kids point at.

No babysitter? Perhaps mom or dad could handle this chore ALONE?

Is this fun for the kids? You could drop them off at the nearest lake or pond and let them chase alligators. Or just leave them alone on the beach for an hour. Or do your shopping after eight o’clock when the kids are in bed.

And what is the store management doing as this chaos reigns in the aisles? Who do they think spilled the sugar bag in aisle five or is responsible for the oranges and apples rolling throughout the produce section?

Have you ever been waiting for a self-checkout to open while mom teaches the six-year-old how to find a banana on the look-up screen?

Perhaps a playland like McDonald’s has for the kids? You lock them in there for an hour or two.

Let’s get creative people because the current system is not working.
