Dhurandhar — The Revisit

Had couple of blogs in the draft section right now, but still I choose to write this one. So, I hope you get it now that the impact, this thing or this movie having on me is huge…literally huge.

People who haven’t watched the 2nd part yet, you are not ready for this.

So, please come back to this after watching the 2nd part i.e., Dhurandhar — The Revenge.

Before I start writing this Review❌, Opinion❌, My Rant✔️ — small disclaimer — that after watching this movie, I even watched Dhruv Rathee’s video on this movie as well. This is just to know the both sides of the argument. So, by now you might have also know that this will contain few political takedowns as well (because, without this it will be incomplete by talking about this movie).

Now, where do I start this thing….Let me go with the flow of the movie only.

In the Chapter — 1 itself, he caught me. When Jaskirat sees his sister in that situation — then his sister feels the relief to feel the pain both physically and mentally. Till that time, she wasn’t even experiencing her pain out of fear. The courage, the relief, the happiness after seeing Jaskirat came out. That shout, that cry — shook me and more importantly it broke me from inside.

And after everything happened, Jaskirat gets death sentence. This system neither helped his sister nor him. Naturally, he will have lot of hatred towards this system but the way Ajay Sanyal (alias Ajit Doval Sir) convinced him was remarkable. I know that it’s a movie, so the credit goes to Writer and Director. I thought that he will tell sorry on behalf of the system for being hard on him — but to my surprise he just recites a verse about men and their constant battle. Maybe because he was also fed up with the system and that’s how he is moving forward in his life. This I guess I can say it as Peak Detailing by Aditya Dhar 😂.

From Chapter 3 onwards, Hamza’s Chess play will clearly be evident and the movie goes nicely from here.

Right after the interval, Yalina founds out that Hamza is an Indian Spy. Then, she confronts him. Then Hamza explains about his war against Pakistani terrorists not against Pakistan and also their mishaps to their own people to her and he clearly tells that he has done everything for his country only. He never told her that his love for her was real. But still she accepts him, not because they were hurting their own people, but she loved Hamza a lot. Then, I realised that maybe love sometimes doesn’t need acknowledgement — it is there, when it’s there! People in love will get it anyhow!

Now, let’s come to the politics part — i can’t really say it’s a propoganda,but it’s surely in the praises of BJP Government. Even though,the Operation Dhurandhar has been approved and started in Congress era, but still there is no appreciation to them. Well, they might have done few mistakes, but that doesn’t mean that they are not entitled to the appreciation for their good things, right? When they made or make mistakes, they are getting hatred and trolled, then when they do something good, they should also be praised. And, the worst logic that I could see for is Demonetisation, really don’t want to talk about it. It’s too bad and obviously illogical, baseless and ultimately senseless.

After killing Iqbal (this part really felt as if we are watching a Bollywood film, apart from this, everything was fresh), Hamza comes back to India — obviously here is an interesting plot twist, that Jameel Jamali is also an Indian Spy. And, I would say that this is one of the best twists in recent times that I have seen in the movies.

Now, after becoming Jaskirat again, he goes back to home. Obviously, he wanted to meet his family badly. But here is the scene — Jaskirat sees his family moved on and living their life, so he stops and then thinks and then he sees back thinking that whether he should leave and again he sees to them and then he turns to the Camera. In this very shot, I felt that he is asking me — should I go to my family or should I go back? and seriously Jassi, I don’t have an answer for it. I really don’t know what’s good for you, But I would like that if you go to your family now — it will be good. Just my feeling, but I really don’t know it’s a good call or not. There is one more catalyst to this entire scene and probably movie as well is the music. This music, after watching the movie is just kind of “Phir se” sunna chaahtha hu….!

And I know that I might have missed many scenes and many important and intricate detailing scenes — but this is what it is when I see it for the first time, maybe when I re-watch it, I may get more stuff to write.
