A life of a Computer Science Student

A life of a Computer Science Student is amazing as one can get a chance to explore the foundations of Computer Science and the specilization in the Bachelor’s degree we chose.

Having a solid understandings of foundational knowledge in Computer Science do really help us to understand and apply high-level concepts in some specializations of the Computer Science we choose to self-learn. Taking any Computer Science specialization is okay, the important thing is always self-learn and explore.

As a typical Computer Science student in a university, students are engaged to various hard skills via the labs such as coding, they are also get exposure to soft skills such as collaboration, communication and problem-solving in their final projects of each subject whether it is a core subject or a specialization subject. Not only that, I have witnessed a minority of students who actively seek up new experience in tech, leadership and business clubs. These students volunteer to be part of the event crews such as speakers, protocol unit or top management unit in a student tech clubs. Joining clubs in university not only shows that you are an active student and it demonstrate your ability to work under pressure, networking and enhance soft-skills. It is wonderful to meet a lot of people from different backgrounds in the tech community.

Some students take the challenge to the top, they actively seeking competitions such as hackathons, CTF and much more to enhance their hard-skills and soft-skills. 2 days in a hackathon, coding, collaborate, pushing code to GitHub demonstrate their skills and the ability to deliver the product with the best quality under short amount of time.

Some students choose a more lonely path, they are the lone wolf. What do I mean with lone wolf ? These students are actively solidfying and constantly challenging their knowledge about Computer Science and always they do self-learn other fields of Computer Science just for fun to improve their understandings of Computer Science. They take time to explore, make tons of errors, buggy codes and broken user interfaces. Despite all the challenges they are facing, and yet they still continue to enhance their products through exploration and self-learning.

For me, with my laptop on and second monitor beside, sipping coffee, vibing to LoFi music while finishing my daily tasks. Ah, a day just ended with productivity☕

If any Computer Science students see this article, always remember that, happy learning and exploring.
