A Monk a disciple, an Architect, and Subtle Humour...

Learning on Medium continues... Unabated. That propels me to read more... clap more and respond to more and more articles...and share more...

Intellectualism

One has seen lots of works of art. Been with many architects. Been in the company of few international experts including diplomats and a few ‘intellectuals’ as well. By the way, this ‘intellecualism’ is quite an enigma. And these people I have mentioned here-in seem to possess this immeasurable virtue... in ample measure.

Since I wanted to understand what does an intellectual do and what brings food to his plate, to my utter amazement, I read somewhere that an intellectual is someone whose concern is ‘none of his concerns’. These are the people, who may not have many followers because few can understand them, but are looked up for guidance, by many.

Now if you have such an intellectual seated close to you, you wouldn’t know what to speak to her/him!

We have here on Medium a few such people who, in my modest opinion are truly... intellectual. They write such matter which if you happen to read, you would keep thinking about what did they want to say. It is pure gold.

Maybe ahead of their time. Maybe only for those who can understand them. May be for me! May be not. But high grade stuff is what they write.

Just sample a few here... (please do forgive me because it is not my aim to hurt anyone. My only aim remains to let more of us read the works of the fellow writers/writresses and benefit there from).

Mr Raffaello Palandri

One such gentleman is Mr Raffaello Palandri. A Monk. A Buddhist Monk. A thinker. A writer. A Philosopher. And may be a few more caps on his brilliant head.

I would read what he writes every single time. Honestly, I only read three to four paragraphs from his long articles. More than that, is not possible because the subject matter requires one to ‘a priori’ know much more than one has hither-to learnt in life. But what I get to read and understand from his articles is truly ‘life changing’. Quotes from scriptures from the Orient, and the West with equal aplomb.

Suffice to state that more of us should read his articles. We may be able to help ourselves live better, especially in these times of terrifying pace.

Ms Nazli Aydin (Misselbereth)

If you have seen an arhcitect, a good architect that is... he or she is adept at drawing lines. Using colour pens. Free hand. And create something truly especial.

Ms Zaha Hadid was one such arhcitect. She was known as ‘Miss 89’ because according to her nothing can be ‘absolute 90 degrees or vertical’. One understands that well enough!

What is more endearingly mind-blowing is that we indeed have such an architect in our midst whose originality is absolutely astounding. Ms Nazli Aydin (Misselbereth)... I read her articles because the life she infuses into her drawings. And deep somewhere within my brain I have a young Art-Lover residing.

Her Charcoal lines and water colours smudge the paper. Only upon a deeper enquiry/look you begin to fathom. The end result is that it brightens your brain, those drawings that is. It is only upon deep-thinking (chintan) that one tends to understand what she wants to convey to you.

And you keep poring over it and await for the subsequent instalment!

Please savour many drawings from her recent article titled ‘Sauron and Nihilism: The Meaninglessness and Will to Power Behind the Urge to Destroy’. I tried to copy one through the help from Gemini. Of course, this is no match to that original work of pure art.

Created by Gemini. I call it ‘the Calm and Frown’. I could not get to copy that original Charcoal drawing here because it is the Authoress’s Copyright...but got this beautiful piece (no match to the Original) created by Gemini on my ‘Prompt’ for, this picture amply brings forth the two emotions to fore.. ‘The Calm’ and ‘The Frown’. (Pray & Hope Ms Nazli Aydin would not disapprove using her thought in getting this picture created).

Mr s v

On the other end of the continuum we have Mr s v who never tires from suggesting some peerless pearls of wisdom through his ‘satirical’ articles containing ‘Bloch Humor’ and at times simple yet ‘Life changing quotes’. Even today’s article...

Both types are subtle. And need to be read by many from amidst us.

Unfortunately... few do!

I try read each of his articles; both types. For, I have an overlap of interest in so far as the ‘Life Changing Quotes of his’ are concerned. Many of them I have copied and kept for posterity.

But his Humor infuses that intellectual streak into the articles because of his apt selection of those Humorous Principles. And all of them remain absolutely pragmatic.

And not only that... these humoristic pieces bring out well developed intellect of those who said/wrote them in the first place.

And...The Moral

There are so many articles here on Medium which are the epitome of pure unfiltered wisdom learnt at the anvil of experience through a lifetime’s hard work.

I humbly believe that we shed the cloak of ‘5-second assimilation’ or ‘we know all that’ etc and learn from wherever we can. For there is good education in every article on Medium...

QED!

Gods Bless...
