For years I kept seeing the same pattern, and I was part of it too.

Production credentials shared in Slack threads. Kubeconfigs sent over DMs. Production logs pasted everywhere because there’s an outage and everyone is trying to move fast. Someone dumps secret values into chat just to unblock others.

It wasn’t that people were irresponsible. Workflow convenience always wins under pressure.

After enough of these moments, I started thinking about what I’d actually want from a system I use daily with SREs, developers, and security teams.

I wanted encryption to happen locally, end-to-end. But I also wanted the operational workflow around it to feel simple.

Teams still need to share files and operational data quickly and securely. They need control over encryption keys, access policies, storage ownership, and auditability, while still being able to move fast during incidents without fighting another tool.

On top of that, operational data constantly moves between servers, regions, VPCs, Kubernetes clusters, and even cloud providers, especially with the new workflows introduced by AI infrastructure and GPU operations.

That’s the gap DeepSecret was built to fill.

DeepSecret is a CLI-first end-to-end encrypted exchange platform for operational data. It integrates with SSO, supports hybrid post-quantum cryptography, connects directly to your organization’s object storage, and provides organization-wide access controls, policies, and auditability.

DeepSecret is not trying to replace Vault or password managers. Those solve different problems.

DeepSecret focuses on securing the day-to-day exchange of sensitive operational data between teams

production logs, kubeconfigs, debugging artifacts, temporary credentials, TLS certificates, .env files, directory trees, support bundles, and incident data.

And honestly, I think this problem only gets worse in the age of AI and LLMs, where sensitive operational data is increasingly copied into chats, prompts, automation systems, and third-party tools.
