Automotive software development often gets bogged down in the complexity of decoding CAN bus messages. I wanted a solution that was fast, reliable, and easy to integrate into any Qt/C++ environment.
๐ Introducing CanDBC-qt: Iโve spent some of my free time recently building a robust, lightweight solution to handle real-time CAN DBC parsing and decoding. Iโve developed a plug-and-play static library that handles the heavy lifting of parsing standard .dbc files and decoding CAN frames in real-time.
Key Features: โ Real-time Parsing: Decodes raw frames to physical values instantly. โ Plug & Play: Pre-compiled .a library with a single .h interface. โ High Performance: Optimized C++ logic for minimal latency. โ Standard Compliant: specific support for standard DBC formatting.
Why I built this: To bridge the gap between complex signal databases and application-layer logic. This isnโt just a parser; itโs a tool to accelerate vehicle diagnostics and dashboard development.
Iโve uploaded the library and usage guide to GitHub. The core logic is pre-compiled to maintain structure, but Iโm happy to discuss the architectural decisions behind it with fellow engineers!
