About Wesak
The Wesak Festival, also called Buddha Purnima, derives its name from the Sanskrit term Vaisakha, which denotes the month of its celebration. This festival is celebrated worldwide and is considered to be the most powerful Full Moon of the year, as it symbolizes the union between humanity and the Divine. Essentially, Buddha Purnima signifies the full moon of Buddha.
For several decades, energy healers who follow the teachings of Guru Padmasambhava have participated in the Wesak meditation. The full moon of Taurus is a significant event for these healers worldwide to come together and honor Guru Padmasambhava’s legacy by providing service.
Preparation and Significance of Wesak
The preparation for the Wesak meditation involves thorough purification and self-healing to prepare the body to receive the intense vibrations released during the meditation. The five days of Wesak festival are considered crucial as they provide an opportunity for spiritual growth and development. Overall, The month prior to the Wesak meditation is a time of service, dedication, and receptivity, enabling individuals to become effective instruments of spiritual force and to manifest the Divine Plan on earth.
Wesak is a powerful full moon celebration that commemorates the birth, enlightenment and death of Gautama Buddha. Wesak is special, mainly because Buddha made a commitment to keep in touch with earth and its beings on this auspicious day. During Wesak, Buddha returns to earth at a specific time and is joined by spiritual practitioners, Holy Masters and Arhats from all over the world to help fulfil the divine plan on earth. This festival is considered the festival of Buddha and is believed to release the energy of Shambala through him onto earth. During the Wesak festival, Buddha is considered to be the representation of Divine Light and the manifestation of God and Christ’s Wisdom, while also embodying Divine Love. He is believed to be actively present, providing aid and support to those who are dedicated to serving humanity.
To benefit fully from this festival, spiritual practitioners should prepare themselves by eliminating negative thoughts and emotions that impede their spiritual growth, thereby allowing them to tap into the powerful spiritual energies released during Wesak.
Legend of Wesak
During the Wesak festival, people of goodwill gather in a special geometrical pattern to participate in a great act of service to mankind. Three world teachers stand in front of the altar rock, facing a crystal bowl full of water. Lord Maitreya, the Christ, stands in the center, with the Manu on his right and the Mahachohan on his left. Arhats, initiates, adepts, senior workers, spiritual disciples and aspirants stand behind them, either with or without their physical bodies. At the peak of the ceremony, Lord Maitreya takes the Rod of Power and raises it above his head, uttering “All is ready; Master, come!” At the exact moment of the full moon, the Lord Buddha appears with a brilliant aura, emanating various colours. The members of the Brotherhood bow and chant an invocation, linking humanity with cosmic consciousness. Lord Maitreya blesses the water in the crystal bowl and participants come forward to sip the water. The blessings poured by the Buddha last for only eight minutes, while the whole ceremony takes about 30 minutes.
Benefits of Wesak Meditation
Meditation activates the Crown chakra and brings down divine energy into our system, which is much stronger during Wesak. This energy has consciousness and can eliminate negative thoughts and emotions from our aura and chakras, leading to improved physical and emotional health, clarity of mind, better self-esteem, and greater peace and happiness.
To have spiritual experiences, it is important to prepare the body and mind before meditation. During the Wesak celebration, the presence of a larger group during meditation allows for greater amounts of divine energy to flow to individuals, leading to experiences that may be difficult to attain alone. With the development of the Crown chakra, intuition may also improve, allowing for greater understanding of inner guidance or direct knowing.
Collective blessing of our wishes and plans after the Wesak meditation makes them a powerful thought with the ability to greatly influence the physical world, resulting in faster manifestation of our desires.
Wesak is an opportunity for world service as people with good intentions come together to meditate and act as channels for receiving and transmitting divine energies of light, love, and power to every person and being on Earth.
During the Wesak festival, divine energy enters our body through the spiritual cord, which acts as a communication channel between the divine and us. This increases the size of our spiritual cord and meridians, allowing more energy to circulate through our system at a faster rate. The divine energy also cleanses and activates our chakras, resulting in spiritual empowerment.
Each year, the Buddha makes a sacrifice by descending to Earth and imparting spiritual and wisdom energies to humanity, while the Christ works closely with him to share God’s love. Therefore, every year, humanity receives blessings of divine love, light, and wisdom to continue fulfilling its mission and manifesting the Divine Plan on Earth.
