Last week, I explained how to use social media sites as an alternate form of blog traffic generation.
Google’s algorithm rollouts in September 2023, March 2024, and May 2024 hit bloggers hard.
Hey, there was even another algo rollout that just ended in June of 2024.
All these changes have destroyed the efforts of small bloggers. Reading the tales of depression, disappointment, and disillusionment in the Reddit Blogging and SEO subreddits confirms this.
This article will review some alternative ways to get blog traffic that my post 7 Social Media Sites Every Blogger Must Use for Traffic shared. This post will also explain additional websites you can use to get blog traffic.
Let’s get started.
Quora
Quora: Quora.com
Quora is a Question and Answer site.
Go into Quora, find a question you can answer, and answer it. Link to relevant blog posts and when people click, BAM! You get blog traffic. Don’t overdue it in the link department though. You don’t want to be called a spammer.
Look for the word “Follow” on the question. The greater the number of people following a question, the greater the likelihood you will get eyes on your link in the answer and potential blog traffic.
Reddit: Reddit.com
Reddit communities are groups of Redditors organized around a common interest or topic. Are you familiar with Reddit groups? If not, you will find more information about Reddit groups here: Best Hentai SubReddits.
There are relevant Reddit groups for any topic imaginable, and some Reddit groups allow links. Make sure your links are relevant and desired or as with these other sites, you could get called a spammer.
Both Quora and Reddit are question-answer sites. So, what’s the difference? Here you’ll find comparison-contrasts of Reddit vs. Quora.
Bloggers like myself are finding traffic generated from Pinterest. Pinterest, like Google, is also a search engine. Make sure that you put relevant images in your blog posts and connect your blog to Pinterest. After Google, I get the most traffic from Pinterest
Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram
While I don’t get a lot of blog traffic from Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram, I do get some and everything adds up. That’s why these sites are worthy of your time. Like with Facebook, avoid anything that seems like inappropriate content or you might end up with an Instagram account freeze. Like with Facebook, it is difficult and annoying to unfreeze your Instagram account. I know since I’ve been in Facebook Jail and Instagram Jail many times.
Recap of Last Week’s Article
You can also use Facebook groups. Some Facebook groups have tens of thousands of members. In addition to growing my traffic, I grew my subscriber list. You can use my list of Facebook groups; just make sure to follow the rules of the group. For instance, if there is a designated thread, use it!
You can use these Facebook groups to promote your blog posts without fear of being called a spammer. Some of these groups allow promotion daily and others weekly.

Also, don’t be toxic. Even well-meaning Facebook users wind up in Facebook Jail. No one knows how to get out of Facebook Jail, so be careful.
Conclusion
While losing Google traffic is depressing, it’s not the end of the world. Try these additional methods of blog traffic generation.
