Trump is a Welfare Queen

He earns billions while living off the taxpayers

Okay, it’s time to address the elephant in the room. I know you’ve been waiting for this, wondering how I was going to react to Trump reporting income of $2.2 billion. And I was waiting for the Democrats’ reaction to it.

First, let’s break down his earnings:

$594 million from his stake in World Liberty Financial, his family’s crypto-currency company.

$635 million from his meme coin, $TRUMP

$86.5 million in legal settlements with major media and technology companies, including ABC, CBS, Meta, YouTube and the social platform X

$77.4 million from Mar-a-Lago

$252.5 million from his various golf properties

Now, here’s what makes that all especially obscene: Trump, a multi-billionaire, gets free housing, free food, free transportation, free security and free healthcare. Who’s footing the bill if he isn’t? Us, of course. The American taxpayers.

Doesn’t that make him a welfare queen?

What was your income last year? Did you get free housing, free food, free transportation and free healthcare? Yeah, I didn’t think so.

Democrats seem to finally be doing something right and are hammering on this issue:

Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA)

“In the first year of his presidency, Trump made more money than in the rest of his life combined. Meanwhile, most Americans worked hard to just break even. This is the cost of corruption.”

Rep. Angie Craig (D-MN)

“Instead of using the Presidency [to] put money in your pockets, he’s lining his own.”

I don’t know about you, but my grocery bills haven’t gone down while the COLA on my Social Security is a joke. There is less pain at the pump, but that doesn’t matter if you have lost your job to AI. And speaking of AI, if you have had a data center move in, how are your electric bills?

Here are a few other things Dems should be hammering home: thanks to Trump’s war, inflation is at 4.2%, a three-year high. While the jobs report hasn’t been too awful, talk to recent graduates and their fruitless job searches.

So, I’m adding another item to Democrats’ To-Do list when they regain control of Congress. Pass legislation preventing presidents from using public office for gain. Set an income amount that they are allowed to earn annually while in office. If they earn more than that, then they have to start paying rent on the White House, footing their own food, transportation and security bills and they must only use Obamacare for their healthcare, paying all of their own copays and deductibles.

There is no way in hell that any president, hell any public official, should be able to earn obscene amounts of money while living off the American taxpayer.

On a similar topic, I’ve been looking for a way to claw back the billions that Trump and his family have earned while he has been president. That includes both of his terms. Their ill-gotten gains would go a long way towards repairing the damage that they have all done to DC as well as the entire country.
