🤔 What’s Next for Nine Chronicles — and How You’re Part of It

Today, we’d like to share how Nine Chronicles operates and where we’re headed — especially focusing on our decentralized business model.

It’s a bit of a long read, but it’s an important part of the journey we’re building together. Please take your time with it, and as always, we welcome your feedback.

[ 1️⃣ A Decentralized Model — Built with You ]

Unlike Web2 games built around centralized billing and item creation, Nine Chronicles is based on a player- and community-driven economy.

Our mobile In-App Purchase model is a great example. While most games sell items created by the developers, Nine Chronicles enables players to earn assets through gameplay and distribute them themselves. Even items sold through platforms like 9CM come from systems like staking and Adventure Bosses.

[ 🎮Item Generation through Gameplay ]

Sellable items are earned just like any other player would:

• AP Potions, Hourglasses, Crystals, Golden Dust, Ruby Dust, Golden Leaf Rune, Thor Golden Rune, and more are obtained via staking rewards.
• Emerald Dust and stat Rune Shards (Attack, Defense, HP, Accuracy) are earned through Adventure Boss bounty hunts, with NCG rewards distributed to participants.

These items can be packaged and sold via Nine Chronicles M. Anyone holding the items and a Garage Token can participate.

There are no exclusive sellers or gatekeepers — everyone can be both a producer and a seller.

[ 📈 The Garage System — Ownership and Transfer ]

Every account has access to a Garage, where players can move items from their Inventory to Garage. Items in the Garage can then be transferred freely to other accounts using Garage Tokens.

• Garage Tokens are earned through NCG staking.
• Any user who stakes NCG can participate in item transfers — no central authority needed.

[ 2️⃣ Behind the Scene: How Nine Chronicles Runs ]

Nine Chronicles isn’t just a game — it’s a full ecosystem supported by both technology and community.

• Libplanet: is our core blockchain engine. It ensures that all player data and assets are securely stored and verified.
• Blockchain Nodes: RPC: connects the game client with the blockchain. GraphQL: allows the client to retrieve blockchain-stored game data.
• Bridge System: connects NCG with external networks (e.g., Ethereum) to enable cross-chain transactions.
• Community-Led Services in Action: Arena Service: supports seasonal PvP content. Market (PC): is managed by the community group fiox. Mimir: powers the in-game ranking system and supports modding. 9cscan: a network explorer, started as a community project and is now maintained by the Planetarium team.
• Onboarding Portal: an entry point, helps new players get started easily.

Maintaining all of this requires resources including ongoing development, infrastructure, and community support. While we currently cover some costs using NCG, this isn’t sustainable long-term and possibly have some effect on the value of the token. That’s why we’re aiming to shift toward a more community-powered structure.

We’re working on expanding the ways players can earn NCG through meaningful contributions. Plans include:

• NCG rewards based on individual contributions in World Boss seasons
• Broader criteria for Adventure Boss rewards
• Strengthened protections against bot-based NCG farming
• Rewarding strategic play, consistent activity, and community involvement
• Token buybacks based on ecosystem revenue
