The impact of an artist in the life of a fan.

Music has been a big part of day to day life routine. And i think im not the only one here who listens a lot to music,right? for my case, i really tried to find my cup of tea and tried to find,what style do i really like? And as my spotify was rolling with bunch of songs, i ended up on one of ariana grande’s song from her album named “eternal sunshine” and the first song i listened to was “we can’t be friends” and i just deeply loved her voice. It was just a bless for my ears. That was about 2 years ago, im still incredibly a fan of hers and i’ll probably be forever. But what i really wanted to talk about today, is how fans can be really parasocial.

Which means, all the delusions you’re making about an artist or a famous figure. Sometimes i see videos on the internet, where there’s fans showing all the merch they bought from the person they follow, and i have also bought ariana’s vinyls and almost every of her perfumes, but i really get to ask myself sometimes, is that healthy? is that even a normal thing to do? Some will say that it’s because they really support them and others will say its absolutely insane. and im not saying that buying merchs or vinyls, albums is bad it’s just that maybe we should put limits to this.

Another thing that i’ve seen on the social medias, alot because im also a kpop fan, is those “sasaeng” running after kpop idols. I’ve seen so much footages of that and i think it’s absolutely disgusting. There’s a limit to liking famous idols and stepping into their spaces is just disrespectfull. I feel like in 2026 our priorities just took the side, and we should reconsider thinking before doing something like that.
