The ABB NASCAR EV prototype had less than a week to be hauled across the country from New York City to San Diego, California. The electric race car was the star of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) trade show.

A goal for the ABB NASCAR EV prototype is to inspire a lifelong passion for STEM education.

Electrical contractors nationwide flocked to see the electric race car in person. NASCAR driver David Ragan was on hand to sign autographs and answer thousands of questions about the vehicle.

During the trade show festivities in downtown San Diego, a Tom Cruise “look-alike” greeted fans and shared lines from the racing movie Days of Thunder.

While ABB was voted the best booth award at NECA, the media also noted that the ABB NASCAR EV prototype was a highlight of the show.
