Why Pet Ownership Should Be Banned, Not Promoted

Keeping pets like cats and dogs should be banned rather than encouraged. These animals carry numerous parasites, with fleas being the most common and fastest-reproducing, especially on cats. Fleas thrive on pets because their body temperature is ideal for flea reproduction, unlike human body temperature. In addition to fleas, pets can harbor bacteria, viruses, and produce foul odors. Their feces can also serve as a breeding ground for fleas and other pests. Moreover, pet dander, hair, and waste constantly irritate the respiratory system, leading to or worsening conditions like asthma and allergies.

People who keep pets often unknowingly carry fleas, eggs, and larvae on their clothing and skin. The reason pet ownership has increased is not due to genuine need or health benefits, but because businesses and the pet industry have aggressively promoted pet keeping through advertising and emotional manipulation, prioritizing profits over public health and well-being. If people became more aware of these health risks and stopped accepting pet ownership as normal, the entire pet industry chain – breeding, selling, and supplying pet products – would collapse. This unhealthy trend should be corrected.
