I Should Have Written My Poetry Book By Now

But Facebook had other plans for me

I should have written my poetry book by now. Yes, the book that would have become THAT poetry book. The book that would have bedazzled the hearts of millions, uplifted souls and gave voice to the suffering of many. The poetry book that would give Rupi Kaur a good run for the spotlight. The one that would have showcased my creative splendour to all far and wide. It should have been done by now. freshly pressed and out in the world by now.

But Facebook instead kept me scrolling watching those memes made me rage bait online got me into opinion wars.

I was left swimming in a sea of cheap dopamine getting anxious watching other people’s lives giving me a sense of false productivity.

So yeah, the reason you haven't heard of my poetry book now is because it hasn’t been written. I’ll get round to it, once I can ungrasp the chokehold of social media on my neck.
