The Evolution of Identity: Celebrating 11 Years of Pehchaan The Street School
-PRATIKSHA RAI
In the middle of the city where people’re always in a hurry it is easy to forget about the people who are struggling.. Education can really help change things. At Pehchaan The Street School we do not just teach in a classroom. For 11 years Pehchaan The Street School has shown that it is not about teaching it is also about helping students find out who they are. It is about helping them feel good about themselves and making sure they have the tools to make their future. We think that everyone should have an identity and this is what we try to teach our students at Pehchaan The Street School every day.

The week from March 31st to April 6th was a deal for Pehchaan The Street School. We saw families get involved and people from over the world take notice of what we do at Pehchaan The Street School. This shows that what we do at Pehchaan The Street School is making a difference. This article talks about what we did that week and how kind people, the media and organizations that believe in Pehchaan The Street School’re all working together to help our students, at Pehchaan The Street School.
1. The Power of Family: A Sunday Collaboration at GTB 1
It was a nice Sunday at the GTB 1 Centre. The place felt very warm and happy. Anushka came with her family to the GTB 1 Centre. They did not just stand around. Watch they actually took part in what the students were doing. Anushka and her family helped the students at the GTB 1 Centre. They gave things to about 70 students. Each student got a notebook, two pencils, a pen, an eraser and a sharpener, from Anushka and her family. Anushka and her family also gave the students Frooti and Munch to eat and drink.
The Psychology of Support
While a pencil or a notebook may seem like a thing, for Pehchaan The Street School students these are the basic things they need to make their dreams come true. Having stationery means they can keep learning without stopping; it means a student doesn’t have to stop writing in the middle of a sentence because they have run out of pages or their pencil has broken.

When families come to give out these supplies it makes a difference in two ways. First it helps fix the problem of not having enough materials. Second and this is really important it makes the community feel more connected. When families volunteer together it sends a message: that the community cares about them values them and wants to help them succeed. It helps bring people from different backgrounds creating a culture of kindness and shared responsibility. It teaches our students that their dreams are important and that there are people, outside their family who want them to succeed.
2. The Intern Experience: A 90-Day Journey of Growth
Working at the level needs more than just book knowledge. It needs heart, toughness and a desire to learn. At any moment across all Pehchaan The Street School centers hundreds of interns work daily to create what’s best, for our students.
What it is like to be an intern at Pehchaan The Street School
You will start your ninety day journey as an intern. You will see the growth within and around the intern. Whether you are a teaching intern or a project management intern or a psychology intern or a content writing intern you will see the growth. This is not a corporate internship. It is an immersion into the realities of change and personal evolution.

· Learning Through Service: You will. Grow along with helping the students. The challenges you face in the field whether it is explaining a math problem or organizing a community event shape the character of the intern. You begin to understand that education is not a monologue. A dialogue between the teacher and the students who are being taught.
· Skill Acquisition: You will learn grassroots problem solving skills and teamwork. There is no operating procedure for the unpredictable nature of street side education. You will learn to think on your feet manage resources effectively and collaborate with teams to find creative solutions to daily hurdles that the intern faces.
· The Magical Stardust: Perhaps the beautiful aspect of this journey as an intern is the emotional connection that the intern makes. The interns and the students build a connection that often lasts far beyond the ninety days. This magical stardust is what transforms a volunteer role into a life changing vocation for the intern. It is the moment when the intern realizes they are not just teaching a syllabus the intern is building a bridge of hope and becoming a role model, for a child who may have never had a role model before.
3. Growth Over the Years: From 2016 to a Gold-Standard Future
Starting in 2016 this organization has made a difference in the lives of students. It started with a group of volunteers and now it is a big movement for fairness in society. Over the years we have done a lot more than just teach people to read and write. We now also provide training for jobs counseling to help people with their feelings and classes in arts and music. We have grown from one center to a network that helps thousands of people but our main goal is still the same: every child should have a Pehchaan.
A Badge of Global Excellence
Pehchaan The Street School got a special award, the Gold Credential Leader badge, from Sertifier. This is a deal for us. It shows that our organization is transparent, professional and makes a difference in peoples lives. Sometimes people who donate money worry if their money is being used well.
For companies that want to help people through their Corporate Social Responsibility, a Gold-certified organization, like us is a partner. This is because we keep all our records digital and people can check them. So every Rupee or Dollar that people give us is used in the way possible to help our students. This award shows that we are an organization and we are ready to work with big companies on projects that can make a big difference. These companies want to make sure their money is used well. They want to see real results.
4. Amplifying the Voice: Media Recognition by Pulse of Noida
The work of a grassroots organization often happens in the quiet corners of the city, but its resonance should be heard far and wide. We are proud to share that Pehchaan The Street School was recently featured by Pulse of Noida in their “Change Makers” series.
Why Media Advocacy Matters
The feature, titled *“Noida Change-Makers: How Pehchaan The Street School is Transforming Lives Through Education”*, serves as a vital bridge between our students and the general public.

• Gaining Trust: When known media outlets say good things about us people who might want to help and local community members start to trust us more.
• Sharing Our Story: By sharing the stories of our students with an audience we show that just because someone is less fortunate it doesn’t mean they can’t achieve great things. This helps change peoples ideas and makes them see our students as future leaders.
• Feeling Proud: When people recognize our work it reminds our volunteers and teachers that all their hard work is really making a difference. It gives them the motivation they need to keep doing the important job of teaching, on the streets.
5. Bridging Borders: Global Participation and Outreach
Education is something that everyone should have. So we should all try to make it happen. Pehchaan The Street School is really happy to be a place where people from over the world want to help out.
Diverse Participation for Holistic Learning
We have internship programs that’re open to everyone. We want students and professionals from places. Like New Delhi and New York. To come and help us make a difference. Because we are getting known over the world we get to share ideas with lots of people. When people from countries come to volunteer with us they bring new ideas that help us teach our students better.. They get to learn about how strong and interesting our students are.
Do you want to do something that matters? We want students from everywhere to join our internship program. You can get experience, in the world and help with something important. You might have studied law or art or science or business. You can use what you know to help our students find their way and make their Pehchaan.
6. CSR and Donation Opportunities: Sustaining the Vision
We invite companies to match their social responsibility goals with our education projects. Partnering with us a Gold-certified -profit organization makes sure that your social investments are managed with high professional standards. We provide information, regular updates on our progress and opportunities for your staff to get involved in the community through volunteer work and mentorship programs.
Individual Support: The Power of One
Each person can make a difference. You can choose to help fund a students education or give to our projects. Your donation goes straight to helping with school supplies, clothes, meals and teacher payments. For what you spend on a coffees you can give a student what they need for a whole semester.
Note to Givers: All donations that qualify can get tax benefits according to the rules. Your kindness helps a child. Also gives you the happiness of being part of making a difference, in society. In a world of moments giving to education is giving to a persons future.
Join the Movement
As we look ahead our goal is simple: we want every Pehchaan The Street School student to have a chance in life. If you are a student searching for an internship or if you are a professional who wants to give back or if you are a company looking for a Corporate Social Responsibility partner then you can be part of what we’re doing at Pehchaan The Street School.
