You Are A Rare Gem That I’ve Been Looking For

I wasn’t even looking for anyone. I was completely clueless — solo, yet comfortable in my own skin. My plate was already full with myself.

All this time, my life’s genre was a mix of slice of life, comedy, with a bit of tragedy sprinkled in between. To be honest, I never expected romance to enter the chat. I was tired of always being the one who was excited, crushing over someone I knew would be impossible to end up with.

So I decided to completely fall in love with myself, along with the dreams I had been praying for. I hugged them, cherished them, and started working on them — fully focused, and unbothered.

As long as I lived purposefully, and became a reason someone felt motivated, someone a bit smarter, someone more knowledgeable, someone’s day a little happier — that was more than enough. I couldn’t ask for more.

But yeah… life is full of surprises. God always has His own way to make His followers surprised, shocked, and stunned.

Although I loudly told many people, “I’m okay being single,” although I didn’t actively flirt or look for anyone, deep down, at the very bottom of my heart, I never stopped praying to God during those late, late nights — that He would send me someone caring and loving.

I told God my list, endlessly. Tirelessly. Desperately.

But during the day, I pretended nothing happened. I immersed myself in work, dreams, and chores. Those days — repeat, repeat, and repeat — until one day, someone came into my life. Slowly and gently.

He was like fresh air brushing delicately across my face. His presence was calm, mature, and comforting.

It felt like we spoke the same language — no translation needed. That’s why his presence in my life felt so natural.

We shared many values, principles, and ways of thinking. Magically, we even shared the same professional goals, complementing each other’s journeys.

So being with him felt reassuring. It felt certain that everything would work out.

Even with the ups and downs that may come along the way, I know that being with him, I can go through those phases — safely.

I just want to thank my old self for always praying. Even during the dark times, when it didn’t feel possible, I still managed to believe in God and gave it a shot anyway.

God is kind. And I will never forget that He sent me the best gift I’ve ever received in my life.

A gift in the form of a human being, who is perfectly aligned with what I had been looking for all this time.

A true gem. A treasure I would never trade for anything in this world.

Because he is my world, and having him by my side is the only thing I have ever asked for.
