This week’s digest highlights major progress across AI, blockchain infrastructure, and decentralized finance.

  • Poseidon’s Numo introduces a new model for ethically sourced, real-world AI training data through user-contributed, rights-cleared datasets.
  • Cardano continues advancing across governance, scaling, and smart contracts, including new formal verification tools, improved core performance, and the launch of Lace Mobile on Android.
  • Midnight moves into early ecosystem activation with its NIGHT–DUST model, growing privacy-focused applications, and expanding developer participation through hackathons and tooling.
  • Canton and TRM Labs demonstrate how privacy and compliance can coexist through selective disclosure and blockchain intelligence for regulated institutions.
  • Meanwhile, Lido provides a transparent, onchain view of liquid staking finance, with governance, rewards, and treasury operations fully verifiable through its DAO structure and dashboards.

Full details are available on below project’s blog.

Story

Introducing Numo: A New Way to Contribute to AI

AI development is increasingly constrained by a shortage of high-quality, real-world data — especially across diverse languages, environments, and human behaviors — something that cannot be easily scraped from the internet. To address this, Poseidon has launched Numo, a consumer app that enables people to contribute rights-cleared training data (starting with voice in underrepresented languages like Bengali, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu) and earn rewards in return. Building on early success collecting 33,000+ hours of audio in weeks, Numo simplifies large-scale, distributed data collection while embedding licensing and provenance from the start via Story, ensuring datasets are commercially usable. Over time, it aims to expand beyond voice into other modalities, creating a full pipeline for ethically sourced, real-world data needed to train the next generation of AI systems.

Cardano

Cardano Weekly Development Update

The latest Cardano weekly development report highlights active progress across governance, core infrastructure, smart contracts, and scaling. IO’s treasury proposals are now live with DRep voting open until May 24, supported by community briefings and recent delivery reports. Core technology improvements include enhancements to ledger rules, Plutus transaction processing, and performance-focused updates to the mempool and data handling. On the product side, Lace mobile has launched on Android, marking a step toward a multi-chain wallet experience. In smart contracts, new formal verification tools (PlutusCoreBlaster and CardanoLedgerAPIBlaster) enable end-to-end correctness proofs and have already uncovered real vulnerabilities. Scaling efforts continue with Leios prototype stability improvements, throughput benchmarking, and progress toward full protocol implementation, alongside Mithril reaching production readiness and advancing SNARK-based infrastructure. Governance activity remains strong with Intersect committee elections concluding, while research teams prepare proposals and advocacy efforts, reflecting Cardano’s broader push toward scalability, security, and decentralized decision-making.

Midnight

State of the Network — April 2026

Midnight’s latest update focuses on moving from launch into early ecosystem activation, with new applications, developer resources, and community-driven insights rolling out as network usage grows. A key theme is the NIGHT–DUST model, which separates the capital asset (NIGHT) from transaction resources (DUST) to create more predictable, stable operational costs for users and developers while still supporting governance and network security. Community research highlights strong demand for privacy-first applications, especially in DeFi and real-world assets, while also pointing to the importance of simplifying user experience for broader adoption. On the application side, early projects on midnight.fun demonstrate programmable privacy and ZK use cases across gaming and interactive systems, while hackathons, bounty programs, and partner sprints are actively expanding developer participation. With the network now live and observable through public explorers, Midnight is transitioning into a phase focused on real usage, tooling maturity, and ecosystem growth around privacy-enabled decentralized applications.

Canton

How TRM Labs and Canton Network Make Privacy and Compliance Complementary

Privacy-preserving blockchains like Canton demonstrate that confidentiality and regulatory compliance can be designed to work together rather than in conflict. Through configurable privacy and selective disclosure, transaction data remains private by default but can be shared with authorized parties under defined, auditable conditions, allowing institutions to meet AML/CFT requirements without exposing sensitive information. TRM Labs complements this model with blockchain intelligence delivered via a trusted execution environment, enabling risk signals and investigative insights while minimizing unnecessary data exposure. By combining privacy controls, governance frameworks, and risk-based disclosure, this hybrid approach enables institutions, issuers, and regulators to operate effectively onchain while balancing security, usability, and compliance requirements.

Lido

Lido Protocol: Financial Metrics 101

Lido Protocol is a decentralized liquid staking system for Ethereum that converts staked ETH into stETH, allowing users to earn staking rewards while still using their assets in DeFi. Governance and financial management are handled transparently through the Lido DAO, where LDO tokenholders vote onchain rather than relying on a centralized entity. The protocol’s financial structure is fully visible onchain and revolves around four main components: total value locked (ETH staked through Lido), DAO rewards (fees split between stakers, node operators, and the treasury), DAO grants (funding for operations and ecosystem growth), and the DAO treasury itself, which holds and manages assets via smart contracts like Aragon. With clear dashboards, real-time data, and programmatic governance mechanisms such as Easy Track, Lido emphasizes transparency, decentralized control, and verifiable financial operations across its staking infrastructure and ecosystem funding.
