I let ChatGPT build my project. It worked. Now I’m Confused.

I was recently assigned the task of designing a frontend webpage using the Next.js framework. As someone who has not even completed learning JavaScript concepts completely. I decided to just tip my toes in Next.js using ChatGPT by just uploading the UI design that I wanna build. I copied and pasted everything into my VS Code terminal.

And tadaa, after 20 minutes or something, I was shocked to see the design replicated as such in the plan that was running on my local host. As someone who has not even learnt JavaScript yet, running a Next.js project on my computer seemed possible. But here I have the same as my UI plan running on my computer.

This made me ponder that “Is it still worth learning skills after all, an AI can build what you would have done, in a comparatively less time and less effort”?

While writing this story, a small fear creeps around the corner of my heart: What if the job I love doing one day gets done by an AI tool?
