Towards a PhD: Continued Prepping + York Food Fest
Day 176: 9/23/2018
The only thing I can think of now is my very first TAP meeting.
It is the first thing I think of when I first open my eyes waking up in the morning and it is also the very last thing I am reminded of before I close my eyes every night.
That said, the firs thing I did today was getting up, drinking some water, getting back to bed and reciting the presentation in my head. I even remember it was the research aims going on for an hour longer.
With those lingering thoughts throughout the entire morning, I still managed to have a proper breakfast, got ready, and went out to the York Food Festival. It was a brisk cold day in York and the temperature has been gradually and steadily dropped for about a week or so. (At the moment of my writing up this story, I it has reached 7 degrees already. On top of that, it will continue to decline for the rest of the night reaching the low of 3 degrees while P’Gluay and I have been committed to go out for a morning run tomorrow. Brrrrr….)
P’Gluay and I along with our housemate, Bhak went out to the city center and within an hour period, we had walked through all the food stalls. Despite being such a cold day, a lot of people were out as I saw kids, adults and dogs enjoying the food and themselves.

a fancy yummy looking chocolate-based fudge stall

spotted two local kids selling pies and bakery

This well reflects how British people are serioulsy concerned with the environment, especially non-recyclable plastic.

Apparently, it was a wonderful day for dog spotting.

Everything looks so stunningly delicious!
The afternoon and evening hours were spent on prepping for the TAP meeting. I continued to verbalize my thoughts and that was accompanied by writing a script for the presentation and organizing in on paper. After reading it through and verbalizing it for a couple times, it seemed to me that it was better and my ideas and thoughts have become cleared than the first time.
Certainly, there is still a lot for me to work on tomorrow. At least, I should be proud of myself that I have accomplished a goal of finishing the script though knowing that will need further modifications for sure.
I will continue working on it tomorrow, especially I need to rehear more so that all ideas will sink in and come out as naturally as possible. The practice and rehearsal will do, hopefully.
One thing I should have done better was that sometimes I took too lengthy breaks to do unnecessary tasks not contributing to the preparation such as using my cell phone. I can of course do better if I do it. :(
