Wherever I go, when people see me, they think of parties. I’m made of balloons. I fly and land wherever I want. I can take off on command. No one can restrict me. No one can anchor me anywhere. I’m no one’s possession.

I don’t belong to the earth, really. I feel closer to the birds. The real ones, not the planes or the bombs. I like to watch people from a distance. It allows me to think more.

I’m a Balloon Prompt

I am excited to announce our latest writing prompt for July (and maybe August). It’s a collaboration between Tantalizing Tales and the very inspiring No blabs. The quote above is from their most recent story on the publication. Remember to have a read.

The prompt is:

**Everyone carries something they’ve never confessed. What’s yours? Your confession. Or perhaps you’re the listener. Your choice. ** OR Use the image from Nice to meet you, I’m a balloon, what about you? as a starting point to inspire your words.

This prompt gives you a lot of choice as No Blabs’ story covered so many different areas such as …

• memory
• identity
• vulnerability
• the burden of experience
• and fear

… all wrapped up in a balloon!

Just remember it is fiction. But many of us infuse our made up tales with the truth. I know I do. I can’t wait to see what you come up with.

Rules

Here are a few things you may want to know:

• Please check the **guidelines** so you are aware of what we expect from a submission.
• Your story should be between 100 and 4000 words.
• Link to this post at the bottom of your tale.
• In the subtitle or kicker write — Balloon Prompt Story
• Tags — please include Balloons as one of your tags and Fiction or Flash Fiction as another.

What we will do

• Prompt stories are showcased at the top of the magazine for the month. The first one in gets 1st position. The next second, and so on.
• At least two or three of the best prompt stories will be **Medium featured. It depends on how many come in.**
• Your tales are promoted on X and usually Substack too. Plus in this Newsletter.
