Alhamdulillah, praise be to Allah, who cleanses the soul, and inspires it with guidance, and who shows the right path, and keeps the steadfast steadfast.
And remember Him, as He has guided you, for indeed, you were before that among those astray. (Quran, 2:198)
And indeed is Allah the Guide of those who have believed to a straight path. (Quran, 22:54)
“You [O Allah] are the best One to purify it [the soul], You are its Guardian and Lord.” (Sahih Muslim 2722)
Peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, and his family whom Allah wished to cleanse, and his honored companions.
Allah intends only to remove from you the impurity, O people of the [Prophet’s] household, and to purify you with [extensive] purification. (Quran, 33:33)
To proceed, Alhamdulillah I have been blessed to work in Minaret College, where some of my colleagues lovingly see me as a “tech-savvy brother”. Some of my students know me as a “YouTuber”. One colleague even wrote to me “barakallah geek”. But it was a typo he only meant barakallah feek (may Allah bless you!) 😉
Technology can be a blessing or a curse based on how you use it. It can be a powerful tool that can be used for the greater good or otherwise.
Being in the job of nurturing young minds and hearts, I want to equip you with the best resources, the finest tools, the most refined methodologies of doing things, to empower you, to help you, to see you grow and to see you impact countless people and their lives, inshallah.
“I only intend reform as much as I am able. And my success is not but through Allah . Upon him I have relied, and to Him I return.” (Quran, 11:88)
There is no power except in Allah. (Quran, 18:39)
So accept from me. Indeed, You are the Hearing, the Knowing. (Quran, 3:35)
I have much to say, and more to show you. So here we go:
1. Quran App by Greentech
[embed]Al Quran (Tafsir & By Word) Start your Journey of Understanding Quran!gtaf.org
I have no words for how useful this app has been to me from my Uni days till my professional life. This has to be one of the best apps to read and study the Quran. Alhamdulillah for this application!
And if there should come to you guidance from Me — then whoever follows My guidance will neither go astray [in the world] nor suffer [in the Hereafter]. (Quran, 20:123)
Consider these scenarios:
Bengali Grandma who wants to read correctly:
You can select the Indopak Mushaf from settings and read the Quran. You can long-press each verse to listen to its recitation.

University student who loves the Quran:
You can read and listen to the Quran, check out the word-for-word meaning, read translations, delve into tafsirs and play a verse on repeat to help you memorise.
The Budding Scholar:
Tap on each word to get the root word analysis and morphology, advance search the Quran through tapping each word and going deeper, or read multiple tafsirs and translations side by side to get deeper into the meanings and seeking the right guidance from Allah’s book.
2. Dhikr and Dua app by Life with Allah
Lavish your mornings and evenings with the remembrance of Allah, quench your spiritual thirst with God’s glorification, seeking forgiveness of Him, and sending blessings (salawat) upon the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam, and infuse your day and night with Prophetic supplications and remembrances.
O you who have believed, remember Allah with much remembrance (Quran, 33:41)
There are many dua apps but this one is probably number one for me. It even includes a section of explanation of the particular dua/zikr so their deeper meanings can be internalised and its virtue can be known for excitement and incentive to say the dua.
Shaykh Abu Bakr Zoud is related to this application, and he recommends it. See his comprehensive review here:

3. Canva

This app is wonderful, mashallah! It can take your design to the next level.
Whether it is presentation, social media post, video editing, spreadsheet or docs — its got you covered Alhamdulillah. You can create stunning designs from the already available thousands of templates, graphics, photos and videos.
And you don’t even have to spend the $40 on monthly subscriptions. The school gives you an education subscription! Just log in with the school credentials, and you have it!
A note of caution, though. Canva is not bound by Islamic values and morals. Some graphics and templates may seem immodest to us. Use it with caution.
4. Notion

Imagine an app that’s stunningly beautiful, extremely useful, and Alhamdulillah I feel excited with this app ever since I first saw this app two or so years ago till now.
Notion is like your all-in-one digital notebook, planner, and workspace. Whether you’re organizing your daily tasks, managing projects, or storing important notes, Notion makes everything simple and beautifully customizable. You can create pages, databases, to-do lists, and even collaborate with others — all in one place.
The white paper like interface and the options to add pages, databases, videos, audios, etc, make it extremely appealing to me.
The picture at the beginning of the article is my timetable inserted into my Notion Calendar.
O Allah, accept the good that we do in Notion, and make it beneficial to us.
5. OneNote

Try OneNote in your computer!
The pen is a powerful tool of teaching and learning.
[Your Lord] Who taught by the pen — He taught man what he did not know. (Quran, Surah Al-Alaq)
One-Note digitizes the use of the Pen. The laptops we get from our school has a pen hiddenly attached to it in the bottom-front-right. OneNote helps to utilize the pen to full.
You can choose the page colour and make it lined, and you can select from many pens and colours, even cool colours like shiny golden and galaxy.
The pages have unlimited width and length, Alhamdulillah. As you use more and more of the page it opens up at the bottom.
Use OneNote to teach. It is a resource you cannot miss to not use.
6. Microsoft Copilot

Try Copilot in your laptop or mobile
If you are not using AI yet, maybe it is time to make that transition.
Don’t get me wrong. AI has many issues, like falseor misleading answers. But subhanallah, how useful it can be!
A boring 1000-word essay you have to read? Copy-paste it and tell it to summarise. Done!
Drafting an email but feel lazy to begin? Ask it to write an email and make small edits to suit your taste.
Need to come up with an activity, game or quiz for the student. Let AI handle it.
Microsoft Copilot has been very useful to me, Alhamdulillah, and I encourage you to use it too.\
7. Kronos
Google Play Store — Apple App Store

The last app is particular to our school and any school that uses it. You can use this app to clock in and out of school without having to walk to the reception or other clocking-in station.
Very convenient, mashallah! Simply enter the number 6277696 as the Company's shortname and you’re ready to use the app!
BONUS: FUNQURAN.COM
If you work in an Islamic school, chances are you will stumble across Arabic writings like this:

Now what does this say? Stay away! Dangerous gasses? Not quite!
To help read Arabic and the Quran, this website www.funquran.com is extremely useful.

It has each of the Iqra books in photo and video format, making your Arabic journey convenient inshallah.
There are many things to say, but you will not be able to bear it.
So I leave you to explore these wonderful apps, and maybe I shall be blessed with rewards every time you use them.
Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullah.
Peace be upon the Messengers. And praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds.
