Loyalty to the clan: A spiritual-literary reflection

I find the character of Galadriel extremely interesting. A woman who looks young and yet is centuries old. A prototype of physical beauty, but she hardly laughs. Her seriousness inspires trust and respect. Maybe. Until she stops. She is fallible. She has too many shadows. She is wrong about Sauron.

How many women feel identified with that apparently rigid character that actually hides pain and frustration?

What happens to our own lives when we are so loyal to family, to the clan, to the struggles of others?

Darkness takes over Galadriel, who, in revenge for her brother who died at the hands of Sauron, loses her own spontaneity.

Do we all have this tendency to darkness, which only waits in ambush to find us around the corner of survival? When the circumstances of life lead us to be constantly alert, are we really people connected to ourselves? Or are we rather connected to the need to constantly preserve ourselves, forgetting our right to enjoy life?

How can we free ourselves from suffering and begin to live our life? Galadriel does not know who she is without her sword, without her fight, without her anger, without her vengeance. What do we have to say about our own identity, about the story we tell ourselves to build it? Once we know who we are, do we remain open to change when necessary, when our soul shows us another way?
