World Tag League B Block update: night 6

World Tag League moved to Fukushima on November 26, as B Block wrestled their third matches on the schedule in Big Palette.

In the main event, EVIL and Ren Narita were working to stay on top of the table and undefeated when they faced IWGP tag team Champions Great-O-Khan and HENARE. Wanting to stack the deck early, the HOUSE OF TORTURE side had Yoshinobu Kanemaru on Japanese commentary and started fast to boot, but couldn’t maintain control in the face of a powerful HENARE. Narita would find himself cornered until EVIL got involved from the apron, and H.O.T took over on the floor. First O-Khan and then HENARE tried and failed to defuse the four man handicap to EVIL, Narita and Dick Togo and Kanemaru ringside.

HENARE gutted through a Fisherman’s Buster and the Darkness Scorpion from EVIL, before firing up and roaring from a shot to an exposed buckle with a wild lariat. O-Khan finally rejoined the fray and dumped Narita to the mat. The Souled Out one showed his own grappling prowess, repeatedly targeting O-Khan with first a cross arm breaker and then a Fujiwara armbar. Narita got overconfident when getting on the top rope though, and after crotching himself fell into O-Khan’s Sheep Killer.

That saw the HOUSE OF TORTURE clown car emptying as Togo and Kanemaru hit the ring and the referee was downed. HENARE made the save for his partner from interference from the House and a Hell’s Guillotine from Narita; an Eliminator from O-Khan took care of EVIL, and despite Kanemaru’s best efforts, the Imperial Drop scored on Narita for the three.

United Empire were battered but victorious, and went to address the crowd before being interruptd by a video message from the Young Bucks. Matthew and Nicholas Jackson issued a challenge for the IWGP Tag Team Championships at Wrestle Dynasty, and despite the champions’ anger at the interruption in World Tag League, the match was accepted.

The semi main event of the evening pit Hiromu Takahashi and Tetsuya Naito against Taichi and TAKA Michinoku. With TAKA and Hiromu, and Naito and Taichi having their own previous history, Michinoku almost scored a win with an early Just Face Lock on Takahashi, with taichi following up with a Jumbo styled Cobra Twist. Yet the LIJ side picked up the pace, and took over on TAKA, whose hair found itself at the center of unwanted attention.

Taichi stewed angrily on the apron before finally getting tagged in to land big hook kicks on both his opponents. Naito responded with a swinging neckbreaker, but before LIJ could control Taichi, a pair of Ax Bombers saw TAKA tagged back in. The match breaking down, superkicks and lariats saw all four men hit the canvas; it was Just Four Guys finding the advantage, and a Just Facelock on Hiromu and Seitei Jujiro on Naito nearly forced a submission.

Hiromu found the bottom rope and the match continued, Michinoku getting two from an Oklahoma Roll. A shock Michinoku Driver saw the referee get to 2.5 before Naito broke up the count; Michinoku tried for the hold again, but he was countered into the Unnamed Hiromu Roll for a hard fought three.

Hiroshi Tanahashi and Jado headed into their third bout at zero points, and wanting a win over Shane Haste and Mikey Nicholls. Early offense saw Jado and Tanahashi play some triumphant air guitar a little prematurely, which saw the vetran team worked over. Both Jado and the Ace were able to withstand enough damage until Tanahashi could uncork a double high cross. Jado came back in and scored a near victory for his side after a Green Killer on Haste, and the veteran pair navigated simultaneous Crossfaces of Jado, but Nicholls countered Jado into a figure four variant he called Shatner’s Bassoon for the submission.

The first tag league match of the night pit the Natural Classics against Toru Yano and Boltin Oleg in a battle at two points. The Filips got the jump on their foes and tried to isolate Boltin. The size of the Australians was evident as they outpowered the big man from Kazakhstan, but after a senton was blocked, Yano hit the ring to fight back with characteristic… ‘panache’. A recovered Boltin would re-enter to steamroll the opposition, but was surprised with a double suplex from the Filips; still a double dropkick to the brothers scored. Hoisting Tome, Boltin landed the Verdict and then Kamikaze to score the win.

Yano and Boltin, Naito and Hiromu, Haste and Nicholls, O-Khan and HENARE and EVIL and Narita currently all share the top spot with a six way tie. Natural Classics and TAKA Taichi are next at two points while Jado and Tanahashi are on the bubble with zero. A Block are next in action Wednesday, while B Block will wrestle onc emore in Ibaraki Thursday.
