The Quran is our instruction manual for life.

It’s always calling us to put our beliefs into action. Often, Allah calls us directly, saying “O believers!”.

This study looks at five important ayat that start with this call. They show us the clear steps Allah wants us to take.

These ayat cover everything from strengthening our core beliefs to worshipping Allah through prayer, being generous, asking for forgiveness, and standing up for what’s right.

They’re a strong reminder that our faith isn’t just about what we say, but about how we live every single day.

1. Have faith

O believers! Have faith in Allah, His Messenger, the Book He has revealed to His Messenger, and the Scriptures He revealed before. Indeed, whoever denies Allah, His angels, His Books, His messengers, and the Last Day has clearly gone far astray.

2. Worship

O believers! Bow down, prostrate yourselves, worship your Lord, and do ˹what is˺ good so that you may be successful.

3. Donate

O believers! Donate from the best of what you have earned and of what We have produced for you from the earth. Do not pick out worthless things for donation, which you yourselves would only accept with closed eyes. And know that Allah is Self-Sufficient, Praiseworthy.

4. Be just!

O believers! Stand firm for Allah and bear true testimony. Do not let the hatred of a people lead you to injustice. Be just! That is closer to righteousness. And be mindful of Allah. Surely Allah is All-Aware of what you do.

5. Repent

O believers! Turn to Allah in sincere repentance, so your Lord may absolve you of your sins and admit you into Gardens, under which rivers flow, on the Day Allah will not disgrace the Prophet or the believers with him. Their light will shine ahead of them and on their right. They will say, “Our Lord! Perfect our light for us, and forgive us. ˹For˺ You are truly Most Capable of everything.”

These five powerful ayat, each starting with a direct call to us as believers, show us that Islam is all about action.
