LOOKING IN FROM A DIFFERENT VIEW

I learnt today, The universe is both giving and fleeting. In abundance and solemn retribution A honeypot that never runs dry. And I dig and dig, I gouge in lust and greed Gluttonously baring my skin and nails. To reach, to feel, to love Be loved.

And I marvel at the euphoria Mesmerized by the debauchery The atmospheric dissonance of the need. An immortal gnawing to want To own, to be owned. Forever running to trap the wind Heather to catch a draught. Bottling laughter and escapades Little pockets of stolen joys and borrowed smiles A hefty price you must pay.

The universe is an unkind creditor. Never biased, never owed. A render to Caesar… But a generous giver, wealthy even. And you ardently yearn,and swallow and choke And before you have your fill, your plate is snatched. For it was never yours.

Oh what a ruse, A playful beautiful ballad An impasse game We’ll both always lose. A seductive synchronizm And every player leaves scarred.

Peace, regret, rest. There’s nothing more you could have done. A maze with one exit,a sealed fate. Every move would have led you here. To yourself. To your tossed dreams and dissipated love

And I find deep solace in that A relief.

That I was always tethered. No colossal yearning and carnal craving Could have flipped the coin. And calmly, you listen To your own beating heart. And you cradle your taunter Pick up your shard pieces And bid farewell. A shepherd, A subservient sheep and a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

This has been a long time coming, but happy to be finally writing again after a long hiatus. Enjoy ♡
