THIS THING CALLED ALIGNMENT

When I think of the word alignment, I think of falling/being in synchronization with the order that was created, or adjusting to fit the original, or standard that was created, line-for-line, width-for-width.

This makes it clear that anything outside alignment is misalignment. In other words, misalignment means that you’ve fallen out of God’s original state (of glory) for you!

The only goals I wrote for the year 2026 were: 1. Constant alignment. 2. To do the absolute most and my best at all that’s in my heart to do.

I recently came across the post below, and it got me thinking.

In the Kingdom, ‘hard work’ can only pay off and yield exponential return/rewards in alignment. That’s why we have people who toil all day, all night, all year, ten years, etc., yet the work never amounts to anything. Although there’s an exception to this, there are certain situations where patience is needed, and that’s usually between you and God. You owe no man any explanation for the dealings of God in your life.

However, if you’ve been fitting a square peg in a round hole, Jesus might come, and you’d have wasted your life.

The Glory of hard work is in doing the right work for you.

Don’t work hard on something you were never aligned to do. You will operate from a place of struggle and stress. But be the best of the best, the one who goes the extra mile, and the hardest worker on what you’ve been aligned for. Here, you’ll operate from grace. And at the right time, the Lord will make it happen for you (Isaiah 60:22).

Even if it doesn’t look like anything is shifting or happening, you’ll find peace, joy, contentment, and assurance in your heart that you’re on the right track. You’ll be fully persuaded, and nothing can shift your focus or entice you.

Some proofs that you’re misaligned are that:

-You keep chasing the next big/best thing, all in the name of grabbing opportunities. Please, take advantage of opportunities, but only the ones aligned to who you are (in Christ) and what you’ve been called to do.

-Another proof of misalignment; you never play the long-term game on anything. And even if you do, you have your eyes on something else or many other things. No true contentment with what you’re doing.

-Lastly, in misalignment, your motivations are first off, money, then comfort, status, fame, recognition, etc., which are not bad in themselves. I love all these things for myself and for you.

But the no.1 motivation of alignment is the purpose of God for your life. Then it’s followed by His peace with you. You feel satisfied and content as you work excellently and diligently on the things He’s drawing your attention to.

Note: God deals with each of us differently. And sometimes, even in alignment, an absence of peace might be a call to go back to the drawing board and remember why you started. It might also be God just calling you to deeper intimacy. Sensitivity is key for constant alignment.

Your best life is in alignment. There is direction in alignment. Fall in line with God.
