Champagne Supernova — Music and Vines!!!

I am travelling to our #barrelandvine vineyard in Brittany #uncoindeparadis, which means a long train journey from the midlands via St Pancras International, St Paul’s Cathedral, Gatwick Airport & Rennes Airport.

Fortunately, I seem to have a young stag party in my carriage on the train, which means I do not have to sit and suffer in silence, indeed, I can enjoy their festivities and ebullient vocal renditions of every song in the Oasis back catalogue.
On a brief time out (where I succumbed to putting in my ear buds to continue listening to… Shadows in the Vineyard by Maximillian Potter, a true story based near the haut medoc), I found myself trying to name as many wine/vine inspired songs and bands as possible.

Knowing that I will be flying on #easyjet, I started with songs from across the pond…
Lilac Wine by Nina Simone https://open.spotify.com/track/16ysvsFHxeC7n9FyA6OmZQ?si=8d0fb3403eca41ac
Two More Bottles of Wine by Sheryl Crow https://open.spotify.com/track/7LSO7xrXtcWyfm5MGSk6OL?si=159c75e46ec14398
A little closer to home…
Cherry Wine by Hozier https://open.spotify.com/track/0GLjY96aegiADJi4uuyYrT?si=d3ee019fd18844e3
Elderberry Wine by Elton John https://open.spotify.com/track/017Qi0XqdNRUa9yLfUMTaR?si=b9b51ca2f2834ff9
There are a surprising amount of musicians that also own a vineyard and make wine, how about…
Mick Hucknall (Simply Red) or Sting (in Tuscany) or the Dave Matthews Band. It reaffirms my belief that good wine and music are inextricably linked.

Am excited to be heading home to Rennes today. There have been lots of developments since my last blog and I’ll cover these later. Before continuing with the music and vines, a small shout out to a certain UK comedian who enjoyed a polite and courteous meal next to me in the departure lounge. You may have seen him on shows with Jimmy Carr and like the time I spent with Gordon Ramsey, these “stars” are genuinely lovely in real life.
A few weeks ago I posted on Linked In about the #barrelandvine and asked for suggestions about bands with wine names, to be honest I could not think of any, but here is what came in…
Black Grape https://open.spotify.com/track/2EaFQ1NPwYnk0edt2dW5FW?si=c2bdc87d88cc405f
Wine Lips https://open.spotify.com/track/4KcxXxPAmgOaoZ6DJlYtSe?si=d75d99ce426c40eb
And that’s about it! Can anyone suggest any other bands???
So… my plane is starting its approach into France, so it is time to sign off and I’ll leave you with the knowledge that the rock superstars AC/DC are invested in wine… In partnership with Australia’s Warburn Estate, the band released an exclusive selection of wines, creatively named Back in Black Shiraz, Highway to Hell Cabernet Sauvignon, Hells Bells Sauvignon Blanc, and You Shook Me All Night Long Moscato. Now, I’m partial to a bit of AC/DC whilst walking around the vines, so am starting to think what we could name our wines.
Any suggestions???
We need a Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Grigio and Pino Meunier. Over to you world.
