The Modern Warrior Series: Making use of the martial arts as a lifestyle.
One day, after a generous conversation I had with Master Michael Wong, the dedicated and famous Wing Chun/Self-Defense Master and founder of the KT3 system, who authored books on his life, I realized something important. I, too, could write my own books.
He suggested in a Zoom meeting to inspire others with a book. And that’s what I did. I first wrote The Way of the Modern Warrior: The Bushido Code of the Modern Era (available now on Amazon). It is based on the 7 virtues of Bushido, and it is the modern use of those virtues in the Modern world we live in.

After publishing my first book, I came back from the 2025 Legends TaiKai presented by the Sport Karate Museum. I started writing another titled Beyond the Belt: 10 Life Lessons the Martial Arts Teach You, and shortly after that, The Business Warrior: How to Build, Lead, and Grow a Thriving Business with Purpose.

Each of these books makes up the Modern Warrior series. I am also writing a parenting book set to be titled The Warrior Parent: Raising Resilient Kids in a Soft World. Each one serves a purpose and builds on the last book. I am writing to help and inspire others.
The first book lays the foundation of the Warrior mindset and lifestyle with the 7 virtues of Bushido, the second is meant to demonstrate and highlight the life lessons one can learn from the martial arts, the third is how to use the wisdom and lessons of the arts towards your professional life, and the fourth injecting purpose, methodology, and integrity into families, something that is getting lost as we continue our trekk into the 21st century.
I take what has been taught to me, particularly from my time at the Trinity Training Center (peoriakungfu.com) by Sigung Dexter Parker, the founder and head instructor of the school where I study traditional kung fu, and pass it on.
I want to share these important values and methods taught to me that aided me in personal growth. He has on his own website, “Kung Fu is a thinking man’s art that aims to unlock a student’s true potential by training body, mind, and spirit.” The same can be said of any real art, regardless of style.
That statement had taught me a lot about life and myself. My confidence level, my viewpoints on life and myself, and the idea and motivation to be the best version of yourself is all seen in living martial arts.
I was first exposed to this by Master Rodney Crowe of Canton Martial Arts, and the virtues and values were taught to me by my parents and grandparents via Scripture, and when I matured in the art of Kung fu, it all came together and now I feel a deep desire to give back and help others see the value that the arts have to offer.
I hope you read my books and are inspired by them. That was the whole point of my writing them.
Also, be sure to follow me on Facebook, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), Tiktok, and Threads for all things martial arts, film, tech, and updates on my book.
