Some songs don’t just get stuck in your head — they become part of you. That’s what *“End of Beginning” by Djo has been for me lately. Its dreamy soundscape and haunting line — “And when I’m back in Chicago, I feel it”* somehow captures the exact way I feel about finishing this course. It’s like coming full circle and realizing the person you are now isn’t who you were when it all began.

This course wasn’t just a requirement I had to finish — it became a soundtrack of lessons, failures, growth, and small wins I’ll never forget. So I thought it was only right to tell my story the same way I lived it: in tracks.

🎧 Intro: Finding My Rhythm

The first track in this journey was our introduction to **Medium** — a platform that, at the time, was entirely new to me. We were tasked to write an article, which sounds simple, but it felt like diving into the deep end of the web. I remember hovering over the “Publish” button for minutes, scared of whether my words were even worth reading.

But in that hesitation, something shifted. That first post marked a turning point — the moment I realized that sharing a piece of yourself online is an act of bravery, and that writing for the web means making your voice clearer, bolder, and more intentional. That was the first beat of finding my rhythm.

The second track took us deeper into the world of content creation and strategy. Our group chose to work with **Dot Coffee**, a local café that radiates the kind of warmth and creativity we wanted to reflect in our campaign. We brainstormed and collaborated on building a digital content plan, from platform-specific goals to the actual designs and copy.

This was when I first learned that behind every caption, layout, or post, there is intention — a story being told in fragments. We weren’t just filling a feed; we were building a digital heartbeat for a brand.

Like the chorus of a song that keeps returning, this phase was about bringing the plan to life. I was tasked to write captions for the content we had created — short lines that had to speak and match the brand’s identity.

Writing these taught me something subtle but important: it’s not just about being clever or aesthetic — it’s about being consistent, human, and clear. And in that process, I started to feel like a real content writer. Someone who doesn’t just write for a brand but with it.

The third track shifted into a different tempo — more technical, more layered. We were asked to evaluate and redesign a poorly structured website. My group and I chose the **Senate of the Philippines website** — a site that, frankly, confused more than it guided.

I focused on identifying usability issues, from a lack of intuitive navigation to visual clutter. Learning about UI/UX characteristics and accessibility principles helped me rethink how users engage with digital spaces.

Now, I don’t just scroll through a site. I ask: Does this make sense? Is this fair to all users? Can someone with a screen reader access this?

🌉 Bridge: Behind-the-scenes

My favorite track in this journey: the bridge that connects the pieces, was when we began producing content for Dot Coffee. We filmed two short videos and created multiple visual layouts for different platforms. It was hands-on, chaotic, exciting, and everything I love about being creative.

The best part? Dot Coffee noticed us. They appreciated what we made. And in that moment, all the hard work — it all felt worth it. Because recognition, even small, is proof that what you made connected with someone out there.

Now that we’ve reached the outro, I find myself thinking of that lyric again — “You take the man out of the city, not the city out the man.”

This course might be ending, but it’s not really over. These lessons, these moments, and this version of myself — they’ll stay with me long after I close this laptop.

Like a song I’m not ready to stop playing, I’ll revisit these memories often. And maybe one day, when I stumble into a role where I write for a living, or design for someone else’s brand, I’ll pause, smile, and think — this is where the track began.
