Something changed this year in how investors think about their portfolio.

The user who used to keep their stocks in a traditional broker and their crypto in an exchange now wants everything in one place. And the one who entered the market for the first time through crypto now wants to diversify into American stocks, ETFs, assets that used to feel out of reach.

Nobody told them to pick a side. That division was always ours, not theirs.

At Bitso we saw it first in Mexico, when we launched American stocks for users who had historically only traded crypto. It worked. This year we took it to Argentina with xStocks: a tokenized representation of the world’s leading stocks and funds, accessible 24/7, from as little as 5 dollars, without the time restrictions or minimum amounts of traditional capital markets.

Was it easy? No. The doubts in the first launch were real. The regulatory uncertainty around xStocks is real too: it’s a new asset class and legal frameworks don’t yet exist in any geography. But we followed the same principle we always have: build the best possible product for the user while being transparent along the way.

What we learned is simple: believing you can win by serving only one asset class, or only one technology, is a mistake. Not because the market says so, but because users have already decided they want both.

Crypto validated its thesis with its own assets for years. Now it’s showing how it can improve other markets: making them faster, more accessible, more efficient. That’s not a threat to the traditional system. It’s an opportunity to build something better.

The ones who will lead the next stage are not the most crypto-native nor the most traditional. They are the ones who understood that users never chose a side, and are building from there.
