Why We’re Building Neverland on Monad

Because speed, scale, and sparkly vibes shouldn’t be mutually exclusive

When we dreamed up Neverland, we weren’t trying to reinvent the wheel – we were trying to keep the darn thing from wobbling off a cliff like most DeFi lending protocols do after launch.

We wanted:

  • Sustainable emissions (imagine that!)
  • Self-repaying loans (yes, really)
  • And yield strategies that don’t get bottlenecked to death

So when it came to choosing a chain, we weren’t just looking for glitz. We were looking for the right infrastructure – something fast, flexible, affordable, and community-aligned.

Enter: Monad.

Why Monad Makes Sense for Lending

Let’s skip the chain fanfiction and talk shop:

Lending is a very specific beast. It’s not a passive LP token or a yield-bearing jpeg – it’s dynamic, volatile, and utterly dependent on efficient execution.

And Monad? It delivers.

1. Ultra-low latency = real-time reaction

In lending, every second matters. Whether you’re automating yield loops or repaying a loan to dodge liquidation, speed isn’t a perk – it’s survival.

Monad’s 1-second block times mean your transactions don’t get caught in the pending purgatory of L1 chains. Repay fast, reposition faster, and don’t lose your shirt because the chain was busy making brunch.

2. Parallel execution = scalability without choke points

Lending protocols aren’t static. Borrowing, repaying, liquidating, staking – all of it happens simultaneously. Most chains process these sequentially, like a bank teller who insists on exact change and small talk.

Monad? It runs parallel execution, meaning Neverland can scale user activity without hitting gridlock. More users, more interactions, no traffic jams.

3. Low gas = micro-lending and smaller players

We’re not just here to serve whales with six-figure collateral. We want DeFi to work for the little guys too.

Monad’s low fees make it viable to open small positions, test strategies, or simply explore without worrying that your gas costs more than your loan. If we’re going to build a protocol that’s truly open – this matters.

4. EVM compatibility = smooth onboarding, easy integration

Monad speaks Solidity. That means:

  • We can fork secure, battle-tested lending protocols like Aave
  • Developers can build on top of Neverland without re-learning brain surgery
  • Users can use their same wallets, tools, and mental models

No new languages. No confusing UX. Just DeFi that actually feels familiar.

And Then… There’s the Vibe

Now let’s talk about something rarer than a DeFi project without a Discord bot bug: a chain that genuinely cares about its community members.

The Monad team isn’t just out here farming engagement. They are present. Thoughtful. Occasionally spicy.

You’ll find their team in the group chats, answering questions like real people (not press releases), and their community members treated like friends – not just exit liquidity in a waiting room.

Keone Hon, co-founder of Monad, along with many of their other team members, make it their mission to follow and engage with even the smallest community members who are making an effort to support their ecosystem. They make them feel seen, and more importantly, they make them feel valued.

And that kind of energy? You feel it. It’s warm. It’s contagious (in a good way). It’s what happens when a team builds with people in mind – not just TPS.

The Neverland Vision, Powered by Monad

We’re building Neverland to be the next generation of lending:

  • Emissions that don’t spiral into oblivion
  • Governance with real teeth
  • And yield strategies that actually work in practice, not just on pitch decks

To do that, we need infrastructure that can keep up – and a community that believes in building something better.

That’s Monad.

Let’s Reroute DeFi – Together

Lending in DeFi doesn’t have to be fragile, unsustainable, or whale-exclusive. It can be fast, fair, and, dare we say it, fun.

Monad gives us the tools to build that.

We’re bringing the vision.

So grab your compass, pack some pixie dust, and meet us at the second star to the right. We’re off to Neverland.
