Mottzy Makes, Makerville, Twitch Affiliation, and more!

Hi folks! There are a lot of of things happening right now so I thought I’d give a little update-a-rona (see what I did there?) about my site, my work, and my twitch stream. It’s all good stuff!

Twitch Affiliate

This week my channel became officially affiliated! That means I have some work to do, and have already started. I will be streaming tonight some of my regular work, but also will be seeking input from my awesome followers on what they’d like to see on my stream. I already have tons of ideas to share (see below) but I want to find tune this to keep people happy with what they’re getting as we grow together.

Tonight there will be a few new additions to my stream, which I plan to continue improving over the next few weeks (and probably forever).

Mottzy Cam will be live!That’s right, y’all will get to see the ‘ol Mottzy mug (yay?)Streamlabs live site: https://mottzymakes.live I have a site setup via Streamlabs for my streams. Mottzy’s Makerville

One theme I’m pretty sure about is my stream and discord server will be based on Makerville — essentially a town of makers. On tonight’s stream I will be laying some of the ground work. Subscribers will have the opportunity to be part of this town in various ways:

Tiny voxel avatars (still determining how this will go)Input on blocks to make and add to the townSubs get their own houses (t2 and above I think)Subs get a status in the town based on their sub level (Newcomer, Resident, and Citizen)More to come — but I’ll use our stream community to help decide what we do next!

Website and Knowledge base

I plan to make additional improvements to my website to reflect to overall theme of Mottzy Makes and Makerville. One element I find important is having a proper knowledge base (documentation). To that end I will be switching to making use of Confluence and Jira Service Desk for the heavier technical documentation and tutorials.

This does mean my project pages will take users away from mottzy.com, but I believe the tool set is better than the current documentation within Wordpress, and it will give me opportunities to allow select members of the community to also make use of some of these tools.

I’m still in setup phases, but plan to have more ready next week!

Wrapping Up

There’s a lot going on here, and I’ll try to keep up with my regular work and tutorials as well. I didn’t expect to get to affiliate quite this quickly, but now that I’m here, I’ve gots work to do!
