A beautiful daisy-like flower happened to be floating in the wind the other day; a young man named Jess was walking in the park when he saw it. Jess looked at that strange flower and thought to himself, Hey, maybe if I could catch that flower and give it to a very special girl, then maybe she would fall in love with me! And so it was that Jess cupped his hands, and then, as if by magic, the floating flower landed on his cupped hands! Jess then put the floating flower in his pocket, and suddenly thought about the bachelor auction to be held that very night; he ran home to get ready for the event. The bachelor auction took place later that night at the city’s convention center. Jess and his friends were put on the auction for the highest bidder, and all of the beautiful young ladies began to bid for the men for the highest bidder; a young woman, who goes by the name of Bea, bid on Jess, and then he became the chosen bachelor as Bea won him at the auction. Jess then gave Bea the flower he had caught as it floated by and placed it in her hand.
The next day, Jess and Bea began to see more and more of each other; soon, their romance became real. Meanwhile, back at Jess’ apartment, the floating flower, which, by the way, had no stem when it was placed in Jess’ hands, was put in a glass bowl of water so it could rest. As time went on, Jess and Bea’s romance continued; then, the day had finally come when Jess proposed to Bea, and Bea herself accepted his proposal. Jess placed the engagement ring on Bea’s third finger of her left hand, and they kissed. Now, their love was ready to take the next level. With a few more months before the wedding, Jess thought that the floating flower that he had kept would be a part of the wedding, as a way to think that he should be thankful for the flower for giving him such a romantic relationship. However, when Jess went to his apartment to see the floating flower he had placed in the glass bowl, he found it was gone! Jess just could not believe his eyes!
Jess just did not know what to think; he thought, "How could my favorite flower of all just disappear?" While he struggles to find out, Jess sees the floating flower drifting back to his apartment, where it suddenly transforms into a tiny fairy! Jess became surprised and asked, “Who in the world are you?” The tiny fairy replied, “I was that small floating flower that you caught and took care of me with water…from that water, I had gained enough strength to fly again. I saw that you were lonely and in need of a friend, so I transformed myself into a flower as a way to test you and see if you could use me to make someone else fall in love with you again. But now that you are engaged to the one that you love, then my mission here is finished. I bid you farewell.” With that said, the tiny fairy turned herself back into that daisy-like flower, and then floated out the window of Jess’ apartment and far, far away.
And so, Jess and Bea were married in a beautiful ceremony, both united in love, and all thanks to a certain floating flower… ©2026 Jenn Webster
